The Denkiri Centre for Creativity was established on Astraios Prime in the early months of 2422 as a means of outreach to the scientists, philosophers, artists, engineers, and designers who dwell in the Gamma Quadrant. Its philosophy was inspired by the Terran author Gene Roddenberry, who had, in the 20th and 21st Century, envisioned a universe in which sentient life forms would gather to share knowledge, conduct research, and improve the quality of life for all. The Centre hosts brainstorming sessions, organizes an open lecture series, manages artistic exhibits, conducts tours, and works to enhance the immersive environment through building, scripting and developing knowledge of the sector and quadrant.

ACTIVITY: 'Mind Meld' brainstorming session
HELD: Stardate 220927, 1030hrs 3RG/SLT
LOCATION: Denkiri Cafe, UF Starfleet Astraios.
ATTENDANCE: 7

We discussed:
We started by stating the most positive thought we'd had or the most positive thing we'd seen, today.

CHANGE
- are we really ready to face the unknown with tolerance and acceptance;
- how human beings would actually deal with being on a starship and meeting new life forms all the time;
- If we can't have a healthy conversation about things we may disagree with here on Earth, how will we step out into the universe and deal with vastly different life and cultures.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

"Mild Meld is a meeting of minds, a playful tossing out of ideas, silly and serious... the wilder the better... no idea is criticized. We may find that that wild idea and this crazy thought meld together into something really cool, or we may just have collective coffee and rambunctious fellowship. It's all good." As Gene Roddenberry said: "To be different is not necessarily to be ugly; to have a different idea is not necessarily to be wrong. The worst possible thing is for all of us to begin to look and talk and act and think alike."
