USS T-Durant Mission TDRP20-11: "Are you receiving?" 200419

The USS Taylorholic Durant, referred to as the USS Durant, is named for the late Admiral Taylorholic Durant in honor of her contributions to UFS and for exemplifying what an excellent officer should be. We are honored to bear her name. The Durant is a Luna Class Science Vessel, assigned to explore and chart the unexplored areas of the Delta Quadrant. We are also on diplomatic assignments, as we are usually the first contact for many planets with warp technology. Our Science vessel converts into an impressive combat vessel when warranted.

We use Post Order/Para Roleplay (ParaRP), which means before our Roleplay begins the game master will list each roleplayer's name in the order they will make their posts. This guarantees each person adds to the creation of our fascinating stories. Para RP means our posts are paragraphs that can be short or long, emoting our thoughts and feelings along with dialog. We feel Para RP adds more depth to our stories. If you would like to try Para RP request a ridealong with us! We will be happy to teach you.

LAST TIME ON STARSHIP DURANT:
An unknown force dragged the USS Taylorholic Durant deeper into Klakkr's Drift, and away from three Romulan vessels (a smaller scout ship and two warbirds) that had entered the nebula in search of the flagship. It was suggested that the extra-thick cloud squeezing in on the Durant had organic properties. Sounds were heard by some crew members, who felt that this might indicate that thicker cloud was an entity attempting to communicate. Helm reported that, despite increasing speed, the Durant was travelling in the opposite direction to where it wished to go, and recommended taking engines offline to avoid ripping the ship in two. Intelligence and Science came up with novel ways to force the entity to ‘let go’ of Durant. They succeeded. The entity apparently reacted with distaste to a broadcast of the Blue Danube Walz. Intelligence then reported receipt of a distress call. Source could not be pinpointed. Although free of 'the entity', the flagship was now within shouting distance of a subspace fracture, and gravimetric forces were pulling the ship towards it. Oh, and the distress call? It was determined to have a Federation signature.

Although all sensors were offline due to their inability to penetrate the thick nebular cloud around the ship, Engineering was able to boost power to the sensor array. This effort was probably assisted by the fact that the density of the anomoly was beginining to disapate as the flagship approached the subspace rift. Sience and tactical could now ‘see’, although mist was still present and sometimes it felt as though they were straining to peer through a murky fog.

Intelligence was able to clear up much of the message received, but was suspicious about its content, as its source was unclear. The name and location of the vessel, which claimed to have hit an asteroid and be in distress, was obscured by static.

Commander Rieko ordered Science to keep an eye on the entity, which had been detected as closing on their position: “Helm, plot a course, 251 mark 35. That should bring us out of this nebula. Ops, monitor the structural integrity of the ship. Let's go...Do it!"

=^=
Special note: Kinoplasmic radiation levels around the Durant are 6.2Gy’s and rising as we approach the fracture. Medical has expressed concern and is devising treatment to assist the crew to maintain health.

Probes: Nine probes were deployed to assist with navigation and sensors. Telemetry has been intermittent. Once in a while we receive a rare signal from the four that have managed to maintain contact with us.

Klakkr’s Drift - we have established that the Drift is a class J dark nebula containing dense clouds that obscure the visible wavelengths of light from the objects behind it… . We have discovered that it surrounds a subspace fracture (an anomaly that emits kinoplasmic radiation). [We would know that, according to the logs of the USS Voyager, a rip in subspace could potentially allow travel through time.]

LAST TIME ON IRW SAHE’LAGGE:

Jaeih e-Ihhliae T'Khev, Commander of the D’deridex Warbird, defied the orders of the Tal Shiar, drawing her pistol and accusing Colonel Ael i-Mnaeha T’Jorani of weakness and indecision. In T’Khev’s opinion, the loss of control of the situation - and the subsequent escape of the Federation flagship, could only be blamed on the Colonel. She refused to allow the Tal Shair leader and her cohorts to take control of the warbird: "The Sahe'lagge will assuage the honor of the Empire, lost at SS Alpha Therapévo when, by your actions, T'Jorani, we lost our advantage. We will capture the Lloannen'galae flagship!!" She lifted her weapon.

Reacting quickly, Colonel T’Jorani grabbed Commander T'Khev's arm, attempting to disarm her. T'Khev had the advantage with her weapon, but the more experienced T'Jorani would not go down without a fight! She twisted T'Khev's right hand mercilessly, trying to get the weapon and gain the advantage. The two Romulans wrestled for a few seconds.

Hearing the commotion just behind her, Scope Officer Rhhaein Lareth T’Suran rose to her feet, and attempted to assist Commander T'Khev in subduing the Tal Shiar Colonel. As the three struggled, T'Jorani got a hand on the weapon but could not gain control. Using her wits, she tried to throw the Commander off balance, by thrusting the weapon away from herself. T'khev fought back desperately, pushing at T'Jorani. In that moment the weapon swung quickly towards T'Suran, smashing into her face and shoving her with some force against the conn. The warbird veered off course.

T'Jorani did not give up. Reeling as the ship tilted, the two women fought each other. T'Khev felt her right hand being twisted powerfully in the Colonel's grip. T'Jorani heard the bones in T'Khev's fingers snap, and for a second thought she would be the victor, but T'Khev somehow managed to bring the weapon to bear. The discharge hit T'Jorani square in the chest.

Suddenly T’Jorani was breathing her last. Her second in command, Major T’Hwaehrai, was grappling with the Sahe’lagge first officer, Sub-Commander Tr’khiy. The warbird was spinning out of control.

T’khev could not fire at T’Hwaehrai because the Major was too close to Tr’Khiy. She was able to stun the Tal Shiar Centurion, Radaik Dorek Tr’Lai, when he moved to help the Major. That left the warbird's Technical Officer and Logistics Officer to react to her orders to help Tr’Khiy subdue Major T’Hwaehrai and remove the bodies from her bridge. “Take them to the brig! Now!!” When T'Llweii and Tr'Vreenak hesitated, she barked: "Veruui! Get them off this bridge and then return... H'ta-fvau!! We have a Federation ship to capture!"

Commander T’Khev then took a moment to assess T’Suran’s condition. She pulled the Scope Officer from the Conn and laid her down on the floor. T’Suran was breathing, but unconscious. The Commander sat at the Conn and tried to regain control of the Sahe'lagge, cursing her lame hand, eyes fixed on the console. It appeared that the nebular cloud was thinning. Sensors were coming back online. And the Federation flagship was close. Very close.

RP NARRATIVE
===========

Evelyn Rieko stands in front of the Captain's chair, looks at it for a second, thinking she's getting pretty used to sitting there. She will have to make sure she doesn't sit in it when they get the Rear Admiral back. She almost smiles, but dread of their current situation prevents it. She is confident they will get the Rear Admiral back. Rieko looks at the view screen. "It seems we are still inside Klakkr's Drift! Those coordinates I gave should have taken us out of here. Commodore Jordan, report. Is it the intense density of the nebular cloud preventing us from getting out of here, or is it the ship's operating systems? It seems we are still approaching the subspace fracture the entity seemed to be dragging us toward. The only direction we're going is back out of here the way we came in! And now the Romulans are back! Reports everyone!" She looks around the bridge, "Open a channel to respond to the Romulans' lovely message."

Ensign Reed: "Channel open, sir."

One thing she hates is an overconfident Romulan. "This is the Starship Durant, who are you again?"

Rachel Reynolds gives a hard look at everyone on the bridge. She is tired and a bit crotchety. Time in the drift is playing its part and making everyone a little grouchy. She checks the readings. "Commander, Kinoplasmic radiation levels around the Durant are 6.2 Grays and it is rising as we approach the fracture. The ship Medical team has expressed concern and I am monitoring everyone's health on the Bridge. I need to inform you that the ship Medical Team is devising treatment to assist the crew to maintain health. I will keep you apprised of any developments."

Commander T'Khev then took a moment to assess T'Suran's condition. She pulled the Scope Officer from the Conn and laid her down on the floor. T'Suran was breathing, but unconscious. The Commander sat at the Conn and tried to regain control of the Sahe'lagge, cursing her lame hand, eyes fixed on the console. It appeared that the nebular cloud was thinning. Sensors were coming back online. And the Federation flagship was close. Very close.

Hal Jordan adjusted the ship's heading slightly to avoid what looked like a dense gaseous area. Sensors couldn't see through it, so there could be something solid inside. It would be best not to scratch the paint. He chuckled as he recalled the Romulan communication ordering them to surrender. The wolf's teeth may be close to their throat, but that throat was armored. He turned to the XO to give his report. "Ship is on course away from the subspace fracture, but we are making no headway against the gravitational forces that are pulling us toward it. The 'why' of the matter may be beyond my ability to discern. Communications are operational and we can reply to the Romulan message at any time."

Nems Darkstar, standing at his console, looking down trying to see what he can scan to make sense of everything.

Kiara Rhode looks to the screens making sure everything was clear on her end as she continued to listen to all. Her mind went to the latest Task Force mission where she had to face these Romulans. Kiara made sure to be prepared for anything. "Sir, everything on my end looks clear..... I just don't like those filthy Romulans.....have a bad history with them," she said as she continued to work on her station.

Rhhaein Lareth T'Suran lies unconscious on the floor of the Romulan bridge, next to her console, having hit her forehead causing a bleeding gash to appear. Green blood covers the upper part of her face and for the moment she is out like a light.

Leni scans the bridge and catches up on the status of the sensors from her console, appraising herself of the latest situation on data coming in, the position and status of the creature following us, and the Romulan ship. She starts to try to make sense of it all and corroborate it with the reports coming in from the other stations. The kinoplasmic radiation levels were increasing the closer we were getting to the rift, and she was searching desperately for any more information on how to tackle that before it becomes a serious problem.

Tr'Vreenak entered the Warbird Bridge, carefully navigating to his position, despite the ship's rather uncomfortable trajectory. He looked down at his unconscious colleague but knew that now was not the time for sentimentality. Victory was more important. Casualties will always occur. Thankfully the Warbird was beginning to come back under control. Vreenak smiled snidely. "Vreenak reporting for duty. Tr'Khiy is in the brig, interrogating the Tal Shiar." He climbed into position and began inspecting the systems. His eyes lighting up at the readouts of the federation ship which is soon to become Romulan property! "Radiation levels appear to be rising ever so slightly. I'll keep my eyes fixed on it and inform of any changes."

Rieko: "Red alert. Tactical, arm photon torpedoes and stand by. Scan their weapons system and report."

=^= Romulan vessel, STAND DOWN if you want to keep all of your wolfen teeth. =^=

"Science, report."

Reynolds looks at the readings on her console. She is concerned for everyone's health, and all the Bridge seem agitated in her opinion, and of course they should be! The current situation is dreadful, everyone is anxious and, dare she think it, fearful. She communicates via the console to the Medical team to ascertain the development of the treatment. Hyronalin is being suggested as a medicinal drug used to counter the effects of radiation poisoning. She taps her console to investigate how to best mass replicate the drug if necessary.

T'Khev assessed the situation. She still had her loyal crew, especially Tsuran, and perhaps Tr'Vreenak too. Although she had been busy with the Tal Shiar she had sensed the possible ambiguity of loyalty on the bridge of the IRW Sahe'lagge when she had refused to allow the Colonel to take over her ship. Some had clearly stood by her, others waited to see which way the wind blew. She was walking a tightrope. "I've killed the Tal Shiar Colonel," she half whispered to herself, knowing what it meant. Knowing what she needed to do in order to... get out of this in one piece. She nodded to Tr'Vreenak as he reported back. "Good. The Durant is close. The nebular cloud is obscuring our vision but now and then we can see her. I am setting an intercept course. Ensure our weapons are online and shields are operating at maximum efficiency if at all possible in this electromagnetic soup." If the Drift allowed, they would become invisible, creep up on the Durant, and then... a message came through the conn.

=^= Romulan vessel, STAND DOWN if you want to keep all of your wolfen teeth. =^=

T'Khev smiled but her eyes were dark, very dark. "Engage cloaking device. I am setting course two one five, mark ten." Her eyes narrowed. "Now the hawk hunts the pigeon."

Jordan moved the ship several hundred meters on the negative Z access to avoid a large chunk of space debris. It was a bit difficult trying to maneuver while looking in the rearview mirror, so to speak. He watched the object pass "above" Durant and a thought occurred to him. "Sir, we are still moving toward the fracture, but we are being pulled toward it at a faster rate than the nearby space debris, even though we are accelerating away from it. I am wondering if we should stop all engines to see if that reduces our speed. We may even want to accelerate toward the fracture to see if things are working in reverse here. I have no further communications from the 'distress call' ship, and only intermittent bursts of data from the nine probes we have deployed."

Darkstar: Looking down in my console, looking to see what torpedoes are available. Scratches his head, don't want to pick the wrong one and make the mistake of taking something out that was not supposed to be targeted. This thick cloud is unreal. Searching for the best torpedo for this job.

Rhode sighs as she stands corrected. "Sir, I'm still trying to keep the deflector dish online, it keeps going in and out. Also the shields. If I can keep them stable I could get power boosted to both comms and sensors," She said as she grumbled as she tried to work hard and fast but knew she was only one person.

T'Suran begins to stir and a moan can be heard as consciousness starts to reassert itself. A hand goes to her head and she groans and mutters, "Faelirh ch'susse-thrai". Her eyes pop open and she takes a moment to assert herself as she looks around wondering why she's on the floor. She sits up and immediately regrets as a bolt of pain shoots through her head, but tries to shake it off and reaches to the console to her left for support. Looking upwards she notices the Riov has taken her seat and she growls angrily, "Riov, You are okay?" as she pulls herself to her feet and only very slightly wobbles, and tries to push it aside as she knows her duty is to get back to her post.

Leni starts running some simulations of inhibiting Kinoplasmic radiation with the more promising other forms such as Ionizing, Theta, Magnaton, even looking at Polaric and Nucleonic energy, in the hope something may inhibit it if not block it from getting into the ship completely, a reduction would be a result! Then hears the CO's request for a report. At first she just stares, words seeming harder to find than expressions then with a start, "Sir, trying to find a way to deal with the rising Kinoplasmic radiation levels. The 4 probes continue as before to send patchy information back to us and as you know we have a 'whale' like creature behind us and an aggressive Warbird trying to catch us up. I think these have been reported already so I'm concentrating on the Kinoplasmic problem to find a way of handling that as it is continuing to rise."

Tr'Vreenak: "Ahhh, music to my ears!" Vreenak scoffed, pressing a few switches. "It would be a momentous pleasure!" This entire situation had been a roller-coaster ride, changing by the very minute. The one constant in this entire affair was Vreenak's attitude, he was aware of his lack of popularity, he had never made an effort with his crew mates and certainly didn't intend on starting now. The only person worth looking after was Vreenak and his pride... That and the mission objective. Through victory, he could get a promotion! He frantically began pressing switches. "Kinoplasmic radiation is rising but not enough to dampen the cloaking." He pulled a lever engaging the cloak. "We're at full cloaking, weapons primed and ready. Ready to engage at your command."

Rieko: "Major Rhode, what is the shield integrity? Yes, use all auxiliary power to boost the shields and weapons system. We have fought these Romulans before, and know they must decloak to fire. Helm, as soon as they decloak, use evasive maneuvers and Tactical, fire at their weapons system! Photon torpedoes, type 6. Full spread! Don't wait for my order. As soon as they are visible, fire!" She looks to helm, "Commodore Jordan, I don't want to stop or slow down with these Romulans aiming at us...we would be a sitting duck." She looks to Science and listens to Leni's report. "Patchy telemetry is good. Glad we're getting something from the probes. Oh! that creature has started following us again. I wish it would drag the Romulan ship into that space fracture! That would help a lot." She looks up and around the bridge. "You hear me, entity out there?" Commander Leni, work with Medical to do something about the effects of the radiation. Everyone stay alert!"

Reynolds tries to clarify her research on treatment whilst listening to developments on the Bridge. It looks likely anyone being exposed for a length of time required a few days of Hyronalin treatment. She continues in dialogue with the Medical team on her console but turns to the XO. "Commander, I am concerned for the safety and agility of the crew to cope with this situation. Kinoplasmic radiation levels around the Durant are 6.2 Grays and it is rising as we approach the fracture. The ventilation system can be prepped to be able to pump Hyronalin into the air supply as a counteragent against the radiation. This is one option. Another is for everyone to be inoculated with a combination of Hyronalin and Lectrazine. Quite frankly I believe we don't have time for that. What do you suggest?"

T'Khev winced as the pain from her broken hand became sharper. She took a breath and ignored it. There was no time to nurse her wounds or worry about what might happen later. If there was a later, at all. In reality the Sahe'lagge and the Durant were closely matched. So success would depend on guile. Strategy. Daring. She heard T'Suran stir and glanced in that direction. "I am alright. Take a moment," she saw the green blood on the Scope Officer's face, "Use the bridge medkit to clean that up.". She looked to Tr'Vreenak. "Good. Use our rear communications array to bounce a signal off the nebular cloud. Make it appear as though our sister ship is cloaked, and with us. The Durant may consider facing down one Romulan warbird. But not two. Prepare to place a warning shot across their bow as soon as we are in weapons range. I estimate..."she looked at the sensors and swore under her breath. "Two minutes. And then immediately target their shield emitters and stand by to fire on my order." Her mind ran through a variety of scenarios but there was really only one answer. How it was to be achieved... her face tightened with resolve.

Jordan attempted to increase the efficiency of the receiver that should have been getting data from the probes, but it was no use. This close to the subspace fracture, all communications bands were seriously compromised. They had barely been able to receive that threatening Romulan message, which meant that the enemy was nowhere close...he hoped. Turning his attention back to the helm, he tried adding some starboard thrust in addition to the normal rearward thrust from the impulse engines. He noted that Durant moved easily to starboard, encountering no gravitational resistance from the fracture. This looked promising. Perhaps, if they could move laterally toward the end of the fracture, its gravitational influence might be decreased. He added a positive Z-index vector to their thrust as well, also encountering no resistance. 'Exit, stage left...and up!' he thought. "Evasive maneuvers as necessary, aye, sir. I am maintaining the same course, but also moving 'upward' and starboard, trying to move toward the edge of the subspace fracture."

Darkstar looks up from his console, "Aye, Commander Rieko, right away." Getting Photon torpedos type six ready, locked and loaded. Trying to look for an open area but with these clouds probably won't get another opportunity.

Rhode looked over to the XO. "Sir, I got the shields to go from 65% to 75%. I'm trying to get comms and sensors a boost that you need, give me like 2 minutes if you can spare, I'm going as fast as I can...this is not like fixing weapons that Marines keep breaking Sir." She went back to her work as she continued to get the boost that is needed.

T'Suran: Taking a moment to look over her Riov's shoulder at the information being displayed and what she is doing to fool the cursed Federation ship, she notices her Riov is favoring her hand. Ignoring her order to get to a medkit, she spits out angrily, "Let me take my seat, I am FINE," and as she wipes at the blood that has gotten into her eyes she stares down T'khev, making it a challenge, daring her to disagree.

Leni reviews the results of the simulations and finds a clear leader in the results. Performs an additional test, mixing in another radiation type and analyses the results of that. Taking a few moments to double check and run it through standard safety checks. Finally she looks up and reports something positive at last. "Sir, I think we have something that will tone down the levels of Kinoplasmic radiation (KPR) getting through the ship's hull. If we can mix into the shield emitter the following combination of Soliton and Duonetic radiation I believe it will act like a detergent in oil and thin out and repel some if not all of the KPR radiation before it gets through to the ship. No guarantees, but all simulations are showing positive results of between 25 and 75 percent. Passing the data to engineering now to confirm the shield emitters can handle this or if they need any modifications first. Levels of KPR are increasing rapidly and are now approaching 7 Grays. Hopefully if this works it will make medically dealing with the residue a bit easier. In fact, if you were so inclined we could also send out some Nucleonic radiation in a shuttle and detonate it in proximity of the warbird with a shaped charge. I'm pretty sure they won't see that coming or have an effective defence for it. It's nasty stuff!"

Tr'Vreenak: Eyes on the prize, Vraneek stayed focused, observing the readouts and numbers like a hawk. Nothing was going to stop this vessel from being his. He could hear the stirring from behind him but it was of no importance to him. "Bouncing the signal out... NOW!" His fingers tapped on the screen, it was a good strategic move, that he could not deny. He set everything up ready for the big move. "Awaiting your command... Let these dogs die in agony!" He gave a nasty, toothy grin... The type of grin that everyone would like to land a strong, hard punch into!

Rieko turns to Leni, listening "A combination of Soliton and Duonetic radiation... yes, do it, if Engineering finds it will not damage the ship." Smiles when Leni says Nucleonic Radiation could damage the Romulan's vessel and they would not even see it coming. "Excellent work, Commander Leni. Yes, prepare the shuttle! OOOoh I like this!" Turns to Rachel, "Yes Lieutenant Reynolds put the solution into the air so we can breathe it in ..and protect ourselves." She could feel something going wrong with herself. She heard Hal repeat what he said like an echo."

Reynolds turns to Science and smiles in acknowledgment of their order to be working together to resolve this crew issue of safety. The suggestion that Leni made certainly sounded plausible. She gives the order to the Medical team to commence adapting the ventilation system by tapping on her console. "Aye Sir," she replies.

T'Khev "One Federation starship, their shields at seventy-five percent. Weapons ready, I am sure, to target us as soon as we drop our cloak to fire. Right now they are blind. And they need to stay blind." She rises from the conn, facing T'Suran for a moment, eye to eye. "Take your position, Sub-Lieutenant, for the glory of the Romulan Empire." She gave a sharp sardonic nod. "Adjust course to two, three, five, mark two. Move us directly *underneath* them, as close as possible… One half impulse now, then match speed and direction with them when we are in position. Tr'Vreenak, stand by. We will prove our superiority in just a few moments!" She moved to the Captain's Chair, examining the sensor telemetry, as intermittent as it was, it occasionally flashed the ghostly profile of a Luna class vessel.

Jordan looked at the thrust being applied to the ship in three simultaneous directions, trying to determine how to take evasive action in combat without being pulled into the fracture. They would need to apply maximum thrust in the opposite direction from the fracture, which meant they could only maneuver in two directions, up/down and port/starboard. Well, that was better than no maneuverability at all, but not much. Possibly the Romulans would have a bit of trouble calculating torpedo trajectories toward a ship moving laterally and vertically. But that kind of movement would also make Durant's targeting computer work overtime. And there was no telling what the fracture's gravitational force would do to a torpedo's flight path. Perhaps the two ships were more evenly matched as a result of having the same forces fouling up their weaponry.

Darkstar: keeping my finger on the torpedo button so badly I want to blow up that ship but stays calm and patient. Patience is not really a good quality of mine but must wait. Don't want to accidentally hit something and blow it up and it not be what the target was.

Rhode gets really excited. "Sir, shields are holding stable at 85%. We got a big boost to the comms and sensors, as long as I can get the deflector dish to act right and hold still we will be in business," she said, while digging in deeper into the problem.

T'Suran nods as her commander relinquishes the helm and mirrors, "For the Empire," and as she sits she can't help but glance over at the grinning Tr'Vreenak and resists the urge to put a fist through his face. Turning her attention to her console she inputs the commands that were given and executes them. "Aye Riov *then louder* For the Empire!"

Leni makes the necessary preparations to route through from the science radiation generators the right mix of Soliton and Duonetic radiation for engineering to run into the shield emitters and nicknames it for the file 'SUDs', similarly preparing a canister of Nucleonic radiation with a replicated shaped charge and stores that for future reference as 'RomBrillo' with a grin. "Sir, sending the details of both to Engineering and Tactical stations and a breakdown of the radiation types to Medical along with a summary of possible effects on humans if there was an accident with it, which hopefully we will avoid."

Tr'Vreenak: The spineless Vreenak nodded in agreement. "For the glory of the Romulan empire and those who have died at the hands of Federation firepower!" He tweaked the controls slightly, making sure that the weapons were fine tuned to cause maximum damage. As he did so, he noticed a small flashing light on his screen. His face scrunched up. Upon reading it, his eyes opened to the size of saucers. "I'm... Argh... I'm detecting a... A dense cloud of some form, approaching from the rear. At least it looks like a cloud on the readout." He clicks a few switches. "But... This is... It's... It's moving independently of any gravimetric forces. This cannot be a natural occurrence surely? What do you wish us to do!?"

Rieko runs her fingers through the ends of her hair.. "Commodore Jordan, continue evasive maneuvers, up and down, from side to side. Try evasive maneuver Picard 3 if you can! Lieutenant Darkstar, stay alert. As soon as they decloak, fire! You will see the warbird on your sensors. We are getting intermittent reports from the probes and from our consoles! They are having the same trouble we are having with their ship's systems. Some types of issues are going on over there as well. So their cloaking device would not be working perfectly, so check for the ship's ion trail. That should lead us to them, to where they are. And Commander Leni, send out the prepared Nucleonic Radiation shuttle to them. I know they're close by...I can feel it. Very close. When you send out the shuttle, Commodore Jordan, take us as far from this area as you can using those evasive maneuvers. In fact move us away Commodore..now." She hears Major Rhode reporting, "Excellent, Major! Keep going. Maybe we can get 95% or 100%! Lieutenant Reynolds, good work with the air systems blowing out that medication. I'm feeling better and more alert already! Engineering and Science, we have a cloaking device onboard the Durant. Once the shuttle is sent off on that ion trail, find out how long it would take to install it. We did this once long ago under Rear Admiral Toocool's order. Take a look and report on the time frame to install!"

Reynolds breathes in the Hyronalin with a huge deep breath then lets out a sigh of relief. She hopes that the safety from radiation, the crew will be able to fine tune their reactions and decisions to prevail over the impending crisis.

T'Khev leaned forward, watching the view screen, picturing both ships as well as this 'cloud' Tr'Vreenak had detected, as well as the subspace fracture. If they could get underneath the Durant undetected and quickly drop the cloak to hit the shield emitters, they would have the advantage. As long as the gravimetric forces of the subspace fracture didn't affect their course or their cloak. As long as this 'cloud' thing didn't interfere. As long as the Durant fell for the ruse to make them think there are two warbirds bearing on their position. And then... "Maintain course, T'Suran. Report when in position. Keep our eyes on the prize, Sub-Lieutenant Tr'Vreenak. Prepare boarding parties!" She rose: "We will capture the Lloannen'galae flagship! For the Empire!!"
