This post has spoilers for S2 of Discovery, read at your own peril!

Who do you think the Red Angel is? Someone new, someone we know?

I think it will be a member of Discovery's crew, specifically -

Micheal, Tilly, Saru or Stamets

Micheal because it is a way to explain why she has never been seen or heard of before now, she could go back and cover her own past up or is classified beyond all levels of security in Starfleet.

Tilly because she supposedly has a 'destiny' she has a rather pure spirit and with the events from the last episodes she might have a unique connection to the network that would let her travel like the angel does.

Saru because of his evolution, odds are he will never fit it back home because of his experiences and his people will either evolve to coexist well and he runs into issues or they turn into predators and he has to stop them for some reason.

Stamets because I have a feeling that the angel uses the network to move though space and time which perhaps he might learn to do.

What are your thoughts?

Great question Miles.

I have read all sorts of theories about the red angel ranging from it being Tilly, Michael, Saru, Stamets, Older Spock, Lorca, and even Picard as some sort of tie in to the new show.

However, for me the one that makes most sense is that the red angel is the Discovery AI computer from the short Treks episode 'Calypso' which is set 1000 years in the future.

This makes sense as they have said that all short treks will tie into season 2 at some point.

Full theory explanation - https://screenrant.com/star-trek-red-an ... ai-theory/

However, its probably something completely different.

Discovery season 2 completely rocks by the way.

My first thought when i saw it was that it looked very similar to an Iconian, and how they used to appear.

Since they were talking about Spock, I want him to be involved. As we know, he has time travelled before. Just my personal hope though

Knowing the way the characters are written, I would guess that it's Tilly. When the story is lagging and they need to have someone do something dangerous or unreasonable to get things moving again, usually Tilly jumps in and saves the day. Like a certain teenager on TNG always seemed to solve problems that the adults couldn't fathom. I think it's Tilly from the future, but there are lots of other theories out there!

I believe it is a time traveling Michael. If it is a member of the crew, she is the only choice because the shownhas decided that she is the most important person in star trek.....that said. The person in the suit is definitely female based on the curvature of the body and they don't look like Tilly's curves.

Ok, after watching the latest episode, I now think the red angel is a future Commander Airiam.

Oh and Talos IV?.... bring it!

I wonder if it's Prime Lorca, trying to return from the mirror universe. We never did know what happened to him, and Discovery will need a new Captain when Pike returns to Enterprise.

People are saying that the space suit has a female shape, but the closeup seemed shapeless to me.

So now we know who it is. All of the clues about the Red Angel's identity were contained in season 2, episode 26, "The Red Angel." I like it better when the fans can say "Oh NOW I understand why this certain character said this line of dialog three episodes back, and they showed a quick glimpse of this specific object from two episodes back, and now tonight's revelation ties everything together." Doing it the way they did it here seems a little like cheating to me.
