Commander Reina Beaumont, personal log:
Computer, begin recording -
Another birthday over and done with, nothing much happened, it was just a quiet day with a little time for something nice to eat as a birthday meal. Mostly I ate a lot of hasperat and gagh washed down with apple juice with a little cinnamon and a small mint chocolate cake, did the usual patrols with training after the shift ended. A quiet day.
Not really much else to be said really, given how long I've been alive for then it's just another digit to many digits. Just sitting here taking time to relax, as ordered due to my workaholic nature, and trying to resist pushing myself to do more work.
Had a little natter with Captain Maira Deerson, the USS Grampian is heading out soon to map a still largely unexplored sector, they're just stopping by for any additional orders and systems upgrades before they had out in a few days.
Well I suppose I should go find something to do that isn't work related, not feeling all that tired at this time so maybe I'll do some writing or something. Not sure yet. I simply have to learn how to slow down and stop pushing myself so hard.
So with that said and done, computer save log and end recording.

Commander Reina Beaumont, personal log:
Computer, begin recording -
Silence is pretty much the loudest sound there is, nothing can really compare to it honestly. For all the battles I've fought and survived, all the things I have experienced and continue to experience as my life keeps going on day by day I am always aware that there is one sound that is so commonplace, silence. Silence of the dead, silence of the times inbetween whatever comes next, so much silence.
Even when there's noise there is still that silence within, the silence of those who are no longer around and who you wish deeply were with you.
It's so loud.
One day all I'll leave behind is that silence and my daughter and granddaughter will find it as loud as I do.
Not much else to say I suppose, it's quiet for the time being but not like the silence kind of quiet. Just the sounds of life going about it's day.
Guess I'm done for now.
Computer save log and end recording.
