Hello! New blood here, Rouhbius. My name often gives people aneurisms when they try to type it the first few times so please, just call me "Ro".
I've never really been into TOS, but I grew up watching TNG with my mom while it was airing. By the time it finished I was more into girls and/or settings things on fire when DS9 came out, so for many many years a portion of TNG and a few of the movies was all I knew of Star Trek. It wasn't until quite recently I've gotten the itch to dive back in, and over the past few months I've rewatched TNG from start to finish and I'm currently partway into DS9 with Voyager up on deck. I suspect I'm not alone in that Picard was the reason for the rekindling of interest.
I have (and sometimes still) play Star Trek Online, but while that had so much potential I think they really missed the mark on what makes Trek, Trek. It's just too much pewpew, and not as much exploration, contact, or science. I think that's what brings me to UFS in Second Life. My next task will be to decide what the heck I'm doing!
I intend to take the easy route and portray basically myself; An older dude with little knowledge of the genre that's basically going back to school. Billy Madison style.
