Mission "North Star"
Intelligence will be embarking on a mission aboard the USS Magellan to a planet in the Nekrit expanse. During this mission we will be investigating why the inhabitants of a planet in the expanse have not progressed from 19th Century technology and appear to still be in the "Wild West" of that period. This was noted by another starship during a recent mission but they were unable to spend any time to investigate. We have been asked to do a thorough investigation and to report back.

Mission Day 1:

Today the team gathered outside the WC at the shuttle. We took off and flew to Tranquility Station for the transfer to the USS Magellan. She was waiting for us at the Docking port near the Enlisted Lounge. After boarding we undocked and went with full impulse into deep space. After the full check list we went to Warp. Only the ultra warp mode didnt kick in at Warp 5 so we slowed to Impulse. Seems the tripple compressed plasma stream coils didnt calibrate properly but it was fixed fast. after reaching Warp 9 everything looks good. We are now in transit to our destination. We expect to arrive this friday around 11 am SLT.

Mission Day 1
The mission team minus Tp rai and Galia ladyl who were delayed in transit assembled on pinastri to take a shuttle to tranquility station. There we boarded USS Magellan for our flight to Planet Tombstone. We disengaged from tranquility and set off at warp 9 to the nekrit system. slight problem that we will need to monitor is that the wrong type of energy cells were loaded however our NPC Joe Duddle is going to monitor these carefully. We now settle down for our 3 day flight.

Mission day 2:

Today we recieved a distress call from a small freighter. After altering the course we found a damaged freighter with no cargo and 2 persons. Daddy and Deanna beamed over and checked on them. Their biosigns were weak so we beamed them over to our sickbay. I beamed over to fix their engines only to end up with a burn mark on my left shoulder. Deanna treated my wound and our 2 guests. they beamed back and went to Warp. I resumed our course to the Tombstone system.

Mission Day 2
Interesting day, We recieved a distress call from a freighter. We altered course to intercept. On arrival out scan picked up 2 life signs both very weak. I sent an away team of Daddy and Deanna to investigate. They found 2 people one man and one woman in a critical condition. She transported them to our sickbay and started to work on their extensive injuries. When they had recovered sufficiently to speak it transpired that they had been attacked by space pirates who has stolen all their cargo. I sent Gijsjan over to see if he could fix up their engines which had been severely damaged. This he managed to accomplish. On recovering from their injuries the crew of the freighter returned to their ship and went on their way. Excellent work by our medical officer today.

Mission Day 2
Dr. Deanna Broek (Sukra), Medical

After coming upon a small freighter, we discovered two weak life signs aboard. Daddy and I immediately boarded the ship and discovered two seriously injured, unconscious crew members. After beaming them to sick bay, I was able to determine their extensive injuries.

The first crewmember, Sirius Waverider, had burns to his mouth, cheek and chin and a broken leg, which he attempted to splint unsuccessfully. After administering Dermaline in gel form to his face due to the unknown origin of the burn, I placed a dermal regenerator in place to accelerate healing. I removed his splint attempt, cleaned the wound and set the bone in place using a sterile field. I initiated an osteogenic stimulator to begin repairing the broken bone. Even after injecting the patient with 5cc of Morphenolog, I did have to restrain Sirius to the biobed due to his determination to get to his fellow crewmember. He eventually complied after realizing her recovery was imminent and remained on the bed.

The second patient, Quorre, presented with similar burns to the mouth, cheek and chin but had an object embedded in the center of her chest. After performing CPR to restore life signs after she stopped breathing, I administered Cortolin to restore normal cardiac function and was able to anesthetize the now stable patient with Sonambutril and perform surgery to remove the item, treat the facial burn with Kelotane and start a dermal regenerator to repair the damaged tissue and incision site.

Commander Broek in the meantime beamed over to the freighter to repair the warp drive and was burned in the process during an energy surge. Upon return to the ship, he immediately reported to sickbay for treatment. His second degree burn was treated with an injection of Kelotane and 1CC of Morphenolog for pain relief. I also treated the burn with a dermal regenerator to speed the healing.

All three patients were released from my care and able to return to their respective ship and duties.

Mission day 3:

As we travel to Tombstone system the alarm went off while on my duty station. As i was affraid too, some hydrogen from the port fuel tank leaked and plugged the port assembly. We dropped to Impulse to access the situation. The venting system didnt open so Buck and i went EVA in order to vent the whole system. I tried to vent the Driver Coil but some hydrogen blew into my face and body. I was beamed to sickbay and Daddy took my place. Although we succeeded in venting the hydrogen out the port Driver Coil was melten down and the spare parts wasnt enough. The Driver Coil is down to 10% and the secondary Static Subspace Field Generator is destroyed. Max. speed is 25% impulse speed and i've compensated for the upcoming orbital ops. Deanna treated me from burn wounds and cleared me for duty.

Damage report:

- Port Impulse Engine: Molten down. Efficiency: 10%
- Secondary Static Subspace Field Generator: Destroyed
- Main port fuel tank: lost 30% of propellant.

Mission Day 3
What started out as an uneventful day nearly ended in disaster. We had all sorts of problems with the drive coils on the engines. Also Hydrogen leaks in our fuel tanks, all due to the wrong fuel put in at pinastri. Will investigate this on our return with a view to getting the culprit arrested and charged with sabotage.
Gijsjan and daddy went outside to try and effect repairs, while i took the old faithful workbee out to vent the plasma and recalibrate. Giosjan unfortunately was subjected to radiation burns and had to transported to sickbay where he was treated by Deanna. Thankfully he has made a full recovery. Once repairs were concluded we resumed course for Tombstone.

Mission Day 3
Dr. Deanna Broek (Sukra)

Computer – Start log…

It was a pretty quiet day in Medical when a hydrogen leak jeopardized all of the crew. Commander Broek was injured while attempting the repair and I beamed him directly to sickbay. Upon arrival, he was suffering from radiation poisoning and burns. Thankfully, his space suit protected him some, but not much.

Concerned about his immune system response with such a strong exposure to radiation, I started a T-Cell Stimulator and administered 5 CC's of Hyronalin to counteract the radiation poisoning. I initiated an infusion unit for fluids and gave 5CC’s of Kelotane for the burns. After getting the dermal regenerator started to start tissue repair, I gave a small dose of Morphenolog for the pain and monitored the patient’s progress.

The Hyonalin did its work and after I.V fluids were finished I was able to remove the infusion unit and will reexamine the patient within 24 hours to ensure there are no further symptoms of radiation poisoning as the patient reported a headache. I released the Commander from sickbay but will issue orders for him to return tomorrow for a full checkup.

Mission day 4:

Finnaly, we arrived at the Tombstone system. We dropped to nomal space with a light bump while translating to Einsteinian space due to the gasses in the Nekrit Expanse. After an Impulse flight of 10 minutes at 25% impulse power were orbiting around Tombstone 2. We all beamed down for a small survey in a busy town but found nothing of interest for now besides this "Dutch Annie's" house.

Mission Day 4

Dr. Deanna Broek (Sukra)

Computer…start log

Just before arriving at the Tombstone planet, I ordered the Captain to sickbay for a diagnostic after Daddy and I sensed some discomfort he was feeling. Finding the Captain to be fit for duty, I released him back to the cockpit to continue his duties.

No other medical services were required of me so I spent time exploring the planet’s surface with the rest of the group.

Mission Day 4

Computer...start supplemental log

I took the opportunity to go back down to the planet's surface to take a look around in period costume. Under the pretense of seeking out medical advice, I came upon Jen McFadden, who called herself a "Medical Assistant". Pulling upon my best imitaton of 19th century American English, I initiated a conversation inquiring about how the medical system works in town. She proceeded to tell me that you just "show up" at the medical/surgical center and someone would treat you or to come get someone and they would come help. I also inquired about payment for services and she told me she didn't charge! However, she did mention a "tip" would be welcomed.

She asked why I was inquiring and I quickly came up with a story about a friend not feeling well earlier in the day and didn't know where to go and I promised I'd have a look around. I ended the conversation and went to our secluded TP point and beamed back to the ship. At least we know where to go now if we encounter any medical emergencies while on the planet's surface.
