RP Narrative
-------------

[SOLIAN Fracu Rasian]: Fracu, had been watching a holo-program of his girlfriend Meiri, telling him what she'd done during the last 2 weeks, and then dancing for him. He missed her. It made him feel comforted watching the program on his portable holographic device. Yes there was a war going on and he was on duty but he was not in the Precia's Sovereign Trust. They were responsible for making sure no unauthorized person or people came into Cronon and they were also in charge of the military, strategies and combat. He could take a break and watch his holoprogram. He was in charge of the Communications Department in the Solian Augrity. The Augrity is composed of Solian Agents and where they are trained, briefed, given missions, and where they report to. The Agents were thought of in a somewhat glamorized way, but he was just in the Comms Department, one of many Comms Operators. As Comms manager though, his job was important. He had to make sure no enemy, no spies or unauthorized comms came through to the Precia. He received a message and data about someone trying to reach the Precia and he accepted the call. The line crackled a bid the call was coming in from a far distance he surmised. So this caller wanted to speak with the Precia. This caller had had to go through The Precia's Sovereign Trust, The Chartegian Realm, 3) Governors of Cronon: and now he was being transferred here to the Solian Augrity. Francu wondered how this person had gotten this far.

=^=This is Fracu Rasian and you have been transferred to me.. Jim Hode. How may I help you Sir? =^=

[James Hode]: had spent two long days waiting. Passed from one person to another person. Ignored. Signal dropped. Try again. Met with suspicion and outright hostility. Grudgingly passed to yet another superior. Through it all, anxiety mixed with trepidation. A sense that his value was less than a h’peny. He counted them off. First, The Precia's Sovereign Trust. The military, glaring at him, questioning him sharply. Then, The Chartegian Realm - sort of royal knights, who carefully dogged his attempts to get through to the communications department, who would then connect him to one of the Governors of Cronon. He hoped for a minor province with someone in charge who would perhaps be mildly interested in perhaps negotiating for a peace that would bring some succor to their local people. He sighed. The knowledge that he was the linch-pin in this plan weighed heavy on him. Now he was here, at Cronon, looking down through the window of the office, down to the planet beyond… and the one beyond that. He felt… useless. Small, looking at the odds. One insignificant voice in the midst of hundreds of thousands who warred with each other. He laughed to himself. He’d never wanted more than to be the Captain of a decent crew aboard a starship undertaking missions with normal parameters, probably mostly charting or patrols. Nothing earth shattering. That, and retire to Sandown where he’d grow strawberries and fish from his boat and maybe have a nice wife with three children who kissed him goodnight. He leaned against the window. Maybe the stars would swallow him up. The monitor chimed, disturbing the endless thoughts that went round and round in his head. Hopefully, this would be The Solian Augrity - rather like the old Terran secret service.. Would they listen? At this point… hope was about as tangible as a wisp of cloud. He sat down and pressed the button, knowing he would then appear on camera.

=^= “Good day, Fracu Rasian. I am Captain James T. Hode, currently aboard the USS Taylorholic Durant, approaching Cronon Prime. I am forwarding my Service Jacket and other pertinent information for your perusal.” =^= He pressed the button to send it. =^= “I need to speak to your honoured Queen… the Precia, on a matter of some urgency. I have spoken to Precia's Sovereign Trust, the communications department of The Chartegian Realm, the Governor of Mikrosk province, and now you. Each has been satisfied with my credentials and my stated mission. I wondered if you could assist me, to connect to the Page of the Back Stairs. =^=

[SOLIAN Fracu Rasian]: Francu listened to the man telling of all he had gone through to get to this point, and Francu knew it had not been easy. The Governors of Cronon had sent Francu the service jacket info and the data they had on Hode, before their Comms department transferred him to the Solian. This man had to jump through many shrrooks to get to this point, but he persevered. Francu respected that. He responded.

=^= "I see...one moment reading your information. Ah! you were the CO of a Federation Starship Durant! I have heard great things about your Federation. Maybe one day Cronon will be a part of it. I see the other departments accept your credentials... So what is it you want to speak with our Precia about, Captain Hode? =^=

[James Hode]: looked to the relatively young man on the computer screen in front of him, and wished with all his heart he could … be that young again, be more concerned about who his next date might be, and care nothing for the state of the universe. Jim would suspect that tradition played a large role in the affairs of Cronon Prime. He watched the face of the man before him, and listened to the voice, and tried to assess his attitude. He seemed friendly enough.

=^= “Yes, I was honoured to be the Commanding Officer of starship Durant. It is good to hear that you are aware of the Federation. I have given my life to its service, and that service brings me here, to speak to you. My mission here is simple, in a way. It’s to talk to both parties and see if a cease fire might be negotiated. Not because I wish it, but because the great peoples of Cronon feel it is time to do so.” =^=

[SOLIAN Fracu Rasian]: If this man had gotten this far in his quest to speak with the Precia, he must be genuine. He looked at him on his computer screen. You could tell a lot about a man by his appearance, mannerisms and voice, and this man seemed strong but not aggressive, confident but not arrogant, caring but not weak. Why should he care so much about peace on two planets that he had no connection to, or did he have a connection? This man was maybe too good to be true. Could he be a spy for Tramlu? Francu worked with spies and knew that the best of them were like chameleons, if a situation called for a kind gentleman they could be that kind and gentle man, if the situation called for someone cold and calculating they could change into that role as well.

=^= Captain Hode, why are you the one sent here to negotiate peace? It is commendable that the Federation wants to help us. Yes, many have died and many of us do want a ceasefire...but how can you speak for Cronon..the way you said the great peoples of Cronon feel it is time..how do you know this? =^=

Francu suddenly realized the hope and welfare of his planet were in his hands.. and a weight was on his shoulders. He could end this communication right now and shut down Captain's Hode request to speak with the Precia. He looked the retired Starfleet Captain in the eyes and knew that Hode would just try again and start over with The Precia's Sovereign Trust, and on to the next and the next and back to Francu, if he made it this far on his second try. Probably would not make it to the Solian after the other groups find out he was denied here.

[James Hode]: wished he could just transport down to the planet. Meet the Precia. Hear her voice and see her face. As tiring and frustrating as this whole process was, at the end, if he was lucky, he would be able to speak with her. He had come a long way to do so.

=^= "Why have I been sent? This is a question I asked myself every day of this journey, Solian. What do I, a mere man of Earth, have to offer? Honestly, I don’t know. All I can hope is that the right words come to me at the right time. That I can listen, and try to understand, and somehow find a way. Because," =^= his voice shook a little, =^= "Because every child who loses a father, and every father who loses a son, deserves every possible effort I can make to end this." =^=

[SOLIAN Fracu Rasian]: attempted to look stern. Watching the man and listening to him speaking, somehow gave Francu hope. He felt this man would do his best and he just might succeed with the ceasefire.

=^= Captain Hode, You have come a long way. We were suspicious because your Durant ship rendezvoused with a Tramlu vessel, however.. your report, your credentials and your organization's credentials have been accepted by the departments here. I believe your Federation sent you because they believe you could make a positive difference here. They believe in you, and it makes me want to believe in you too. I will pass you through to the Page of the Back Stairs. Good luck in your negotiations, Sir.. I will be counting on you. =^=

*Passes Jim through to the next level * The computer screen beeps and someone answers .

=^= "This is Avery, Steward to the Precia.. Captain James T Hode… I have your information, it was forwarded to me." =^= Avery takes a good look at the man. =^= "I know it took a lot of patience to get to this point, and that's a good quality! I have been serving the Royal family for many years.. more than you've been alive for sure." =^= He sat there looking at the man on his computer screen for a few moments, and then said, =^= "Very few outworlders get this far in the process to speak with the Precia. If you have made it this far I am sure you are fine and what I have read about you in your data is admirable. Now Captain Hode, all I need is to hear you speak. Then I will know." =^= He sat there waiting for Hode to speak.

[James Hode]: He said gratefully, =^= “Thank you for your assistance, it means a great deal.” =^= The screen flickered, and a new face appeared. Jim prepared his speech again, prepared to send his credentials again, prepared to answer every question with sincerity. For it wasn’t a lie. He was here to bring peace. He was here to stop the war. He was here to stop the death and dying. He was here to change what was happening, because he couldn’t live with himself if he didn’t try. Avery invited him to speak and now Jim found himself wiping his hands along his slacks. So close. So close now. He smiled at Avery’s spirit and said, =^= “I am Captain James T. Hode, currently aboard the USS Taylorholic Durant, approaching Cronon Prime. It is possible to speak to the Precia? I have a matter of great importance to discuss with her.” =^=

[Avery]: Avery prided himself on being able to take the measure of a person, and figure them out enough to know if he could trust them or not, and he could trust this man. Avery had never been wrong. Hode had come through department after department after department after agency and now he was here. Avery nodded and said =^= "Mm hm. Yes, it is possible, Captain Hode. I will transfer you to the Precia's private line. One moment. Transferring." =^=

[James Hode]: Now was the moment he both anticipated and dreaded. He had tossed and turned every night since he’d been aboard the Durant, trying to decide how best to approach the Queen, what to say, what to do. In the end he felt the only possible answer was to ask to speak with her in person. He needed to get onto Cronon, be in the capital city, be in the royal palace, find out who her advisors were and where they were… so much data to collect and sift through.

[Araina Elani Zhor]: she felt a bit nervous... she composed herself and accepted the call. Pressing the buttons on her console and seeing a man appear before her on the computer screen. There was a photo on his Service Jacket info so she knew he was human, but she had just glanced at it as she rushed to read about him. But now looking at him on the screen… there was a nervous fluttering in her stomach. She was never nervous or anxious about speaking with anyone or in front of great crowds of people. So strange. She inhaled and exhaled slowly to calm herself, and remember who she is. Her mother told her to always remember she could do anything, so speaking with this man should not be difficult to do. She looked closer at him, she liked his eyes... very pretty. She told herself to forget about his eyes he is calling about a serious matter. Then she thought Oh why did her mother have to be away when an important phone call like this came though. Then she spoke to him

=^= "Greetings, Captain James Hode, I regret to inform you the Precia (Queen) Elani is not available at this time, but you may speak with me and I will convey your message. I have all of your credentials. Former Captain of the starship Durant. Here at the request of the Federation. I understand this is in reference to the war and a possible ceasefire. I am authorized to speak with you on behalf of the Queen. This is her daughter Princess Araina." =^=

[James Hode]: She appeared before his eyes like the vision of a goddess. He was struck dumb by her beauty. Literally. He could not speak, his jaw worked. Time spun around him topsy turvy. He grabbed the edge of the desk, feeling like he would spin out of control. Finally he managed to croak, like a child reciting something they had to memorize:

=^= “I am Captain James T. Hode, currently aboard the USS Taylorholic Durant, approaching Cronon Prime. I… am most grateful to you for agreeing to speak with me over comms… ah… Princess Araina. I have come to ask the Queen if it might be possible to.. Find a way to… resolve the conflicts between Cronon and Tramlu. I know,” =^= he said earnestly, his heart in his throat, flummoxed by what was happening… =^= “Let me rephrase… I don’t know… but you do… you know the beating heart of the Cronon people… you hear the cries of the tiniest child. I ask you… I beg you… to at least consider meeting me… and if, after you hear what I have to say, you wish us to go, we will go. We will not interfere.” =^= He racked his brain, still off kilter, her mesmerizing eyes on his face, her soft hair flowing onto her shoulders.. But she was more than beauty, she was… =^= "The Queen may be the mother of Cronon, but you are the soul of your people. A Solia, a star. They look at you and are blinded, as I am, by the light in your eyes. I bring you only my humble self, and a wish to… in whatever way I can, serve you.” =^= He stopped speaking then, not trusting his voice, knowing it would shake if he kept going, knowing he was near to tears, hoping she would see it as sincere emotion. Which it was.

[Araina Elani Zhor]: She felt emotional listening to this man. He sounded like he was a Cronian. He seemed like he loved the Cronon people as much as she did. She could feel the emotion emanating from him even through this distance and this technical computer screen. =^= "You are very poetic and earnest in your speech Captain Hode. I am sure you are a great arbitrator." =^= She ran her fingers through her hair and then moved it behind her shoulder. =^= "Have you spoken with the planet Tramlu... and their Princess and military General? Are they willing to have peace talks with us? They say we are hateful and terrible oppressors, that we are wicked and mean.. and that we want them enslaved. Will they sit at the table with such a race? Although I assure you, we are nothing of the sort. We do have factions on Cronon that are steadfast against allowing Tramlu to govern itself, but there are also those that think it is a good idea.. but they are in the minority." =^=

She waited for him to respond. She liked his voice. It made her feel very emotional the way he spoke… at times it made her feel like she wanted to cry, but not out of sadness.. out of emotions going through her. She felt that anxiousness again and a rush of adrenalin through her body as she looked at James T. Hode. She felt frightened suddenly, it came over her like a wave. Suddenly she wanted to run, run from this man.. that made no sense, he seemed kind, and caring.. he was here to help.. but she wanted to run from him... but she couldn't. She wanted to say 'Wait until my mother gets home, and talk to her ', but she couldn't. She was the Princess of Cronon and her mother was away for the day, and had trusted her to keep everything in order, and she would.

[James Hode]: listened, listened to the sound of her voice, like a balm to his soul. He had feared this moment, feared she would reject him and his olive branch, but suddenly he felt… that it might just be possible. He watched the emotions wash over her face… prompted suddenly to say, =^= “I am here to help you. We see each other through this technology, but even though it is computer algorithms and photographic imagery that paints us into being, there is something deeper and unseen. It can be frightening to feel that… connection with the unknown. But use it, use it to sense me and know me, and know that I bring no harm to you or Cronon.” =^= He paused, seeing a waterfall in his mind, and her face before him, in some impossible dream…

=^= “Yes, I have spoken to Tramlu. I told them,” =^= leaning forward, =^= “I told them that, if Tramlu is the Solio, strong and handsome, a young man seeking his freedom with rebellion instead of with innovation and artistry… that Cronon is the Solia… beautiful… thoughtful… intelligent. That these two are meant to be together. That they… only need to stop fighting long enough to see what is beneath the seen… that connection… that soul… one death marrs that vision… a hundred thousand, destroys it. Come,” =^= he said softly, =^= “Come, let us find a way to… stop the madness and find.. joy in one another again.” =^=

[Araina Elani Zhor]: listened to James speaking and he calmed her. It was like he knew what she was feeling and he said the words she needed to hear in his sweet and deep voice.

=^= "Captain Hode, I believe you. I know you are here to help. We appreciate you coming all this way and trying. I spoke with my mother about compromising with Tramlu a few days ago. I spoke to her telling her too many people had died on both planets, and it had to stop. There were no talks, no compromises set forth, we would just keep killing each other until there was no one left, and that made no sense. My mother is considering my suggestion, although she is adamant about keeping control over Tramlu and I feel the same, but this war is making me have second thoughts. I have been trying to persuade my mother and the Governors that we should consider freeing Tramlu or at least make some compromises with them. So yes, I have the authority from my mother, the Precia of Cronon, to accept your invitation to meet at peace talks with Tramlu. We will discuss in detail our requirements before this meeting takes place: the place, the time and other considerations my mother may require. You will be escorted to meet with me when you arrive. Thank you Captain Hode." =^=

His voice was so mesmerizing when he spoke in that soft tone. ’Come’, he’d said in that soft enchanting voice, ‘let us find a way to stop the madness and find joy in one another again’, for a moment she felt as if he was speaking to her… about the two of them, even though they had never met before, but of course he was speaking of Cronon and Tramlu. Wasn’t he? She thought, who is this man? She wanted to know more about him, and find out more about his personal life. Maybe one day she will.
