TDRP2213: "The Hardest Word to Say" (220402)

The USS Taylorholic Durant is considered to be the Flagship of the UFS Fleet. We are honoured to have Admiral Mike Calhoun as our former CO and as a current crew member, as well as other luminaries. We are para-RPers and storytellers. Using live, in-the-moment chat, we listen, read, respond, and create a new story as a collective of writers jamming on a theme. We are given a context – a place to begin and then improvise together what happens next, and what happens after that… and where does that take us.
That sense of being in fellowship with other creative people who understand the overall context and environment while writing a story that is vibrant and alive creates a sense of enjoyment and togetherness. Our goal on Durant is to foster that sense of belonging, to embrace good RP etiquette, and to have tons of fun!

MISSION TDRP2213
==============

STARDATE:220402
CREW START TIME: 9:00am SLT

LOCATION TO MEET: Irzed Palace
RP STARTS: Irzed Palace

WHAT TO WEAR:
UFS Class B Uniforms
Durant Chat Relay
Phasers
Tricorders

MISSION LEAD/GM: Fleet Captain Evelyn Rieko

POST ORDER: Will be decided, and posted, by the Mission Leader just prior to mission start (and sometimes adjusted in the RP if necessary).

ARRIVING LATE? Ensure to enter the scene in a logical manner.
NEED TO LEAVE EARLY? Justify your exit.

PROPER ADDRESS: Our XO is addressed as Captain Jordan or XO or Exec. Our CO is addressed as Captain Rieko. Please don't use "Captain" without a surname as we won't know who you are addressing ;)

SITREP: We have met the Queen Regent Myriat Greeri, and members of the Royal Court. We were reacquainted with Laseus and Lithia, two in the Royal Court, that we met on our first visit to Ogred. We also spent time speaking with the Nannies that will take care of our children. Giving our babies over to the Irzeds is very difficult for all three of us, but we must do what is best for the children. We realize the babies should be raised on their home planet with their own people, which includes relatives that love them. The Queen Regent is their cousin. They could not learn to be Irzeds from us, if we raised them on the Durant with us they would not learn the Izred ways and culture. We know very little about Irzeds and there is not much in our computer banks either. I have every intention of keeping in touch with my baby, her nanny and the Queen Regent Myriat.

There was a big celebration for the Worthy Ones (the ones that had been implanted with eggs) and the Royal babies. The away team members seem to be enjoying the celebration. It was an adjustment to have the babies onboard, now we will all go through an adjustment no longer having them with us. I find that the Irzeds are very arrogant. When Captain Jordan asked for an explanation of why they implanted the eggs in us they said it was their way and it was an honor that they wanted to add our genes to theirs, and an even greater honor because we had the Royal eggs from their Queen implanted in us, something that is rare. They believed we should be happy and honored that we were violated. During the celebration I spoke with the Queen Regent Myriat about that and explained that we were angry and upset because they did not ask our permission and just implanted those eggs into us. I explained to her that they had violated us, but no matter how I worded it, she did not understand, and believed it is a good thing that they did. I explained to Myriat their arrogance and disregard for others' rights have prevented them from joining the Federation as they had hoped to do.

Myriat and the Royal Court members were disappointed that they would not be allowed to join the Federation, but then Myriat had said they were still joined with the Federation through the babies being ours and having some of our DNA. And that she was happy about that.

The Queen Regent Myriat allowed us to name the babies and to spend time with them before we left Ogred. We must say goodbye. We will go to a lovely planet to have our shore leave when we leave Ogred. A vacation we all need.

RP NARRATIVE
===========

Evelyn Rieko looks at her baby girl climbing on a branch of a small tree, a lot like bonsai trees on Earth. The celebration has been surprisingly fun, but now they are getting near the time to leave, and Evelyn's heart feels sad. The Irzed Regent Myriat seemed nice enough allowing them to name their babies, but the Regent insisted what the Irzeds had done to the crew members myself, Captain Jordan and Lieutenant JG Yamabushi was an honor, and not a violation of our personal rights and bodies. This way of thinking will absolutely prevent the Irzeds from joining the Federation and Myriat understands that much, and she does not seem to care as long as the Irzeds have gotten DNA from the three of us deemed the "Worthy Ones'' or the "Worthies." I look around at the team. "This has been a very interesting and enjoyable occasion. Anyone who wants to play with the babies, and say goodbye to them may do so before we leave. They have been such a joy to me having them on the ship, unusual but very pleasant. I am announcing that I am naming my baby girl Erica, which means brave ruler, and forever ruler in Norse. Her great grandmother has Norse blood, descended from the Vikings, and I think the name is fitting." She smiles.”The name Erica also means a class of flowering plants. So, it’s also a fitting name for her,  as I and some in my family are botanists. She is my little flower.”

Narek Siva'nek: I think about the "traits" the Irzedi wanted in their new Royal Children. They must have seen something in each surrogate parent that they wished to incorporate into their ancestry lines. I hear one of the little ones squeak loudly for a moment. Do they know what is about to happen? I hope they don't have separation anxiety. I can still feel them in my hands when they were so very small when I did health checks on each one. I know they will have a good life as they continue life with their "families." I know it's difficult for the surrogate parents to leave them here too. "Your Royal Highnesses, these little ones have been a joy to birth and care for, for everyone. We will all miss them but I wish them a prosperous upbringing. Live Long and Prosper we say in my culture. It has been an honor to be their doctor." Looks to each of the three surrogate parents, knowing this is the most difficult moment for them.

Hal Jordan listened as Evelyn tried over and over to explain to the Queen Regent why implanting eggs into strangers without notification was a bad idea. The idea didn't seem to be coming across very well, so he decided to try his luck with it. "Try looking at it this way: say I walk up to you with a huge hypodermic needle filled with an unknown liquid. Without saying a word, I stab the needle into you and inject the contents. Then I withdraw the needle and walk away. How would you feel about that? Would you accept it as a high honor or would you want to know more information? And would you believe that I should have asked permission before the injection, or at least discussed with you why it was necessary?" He went down on one knee and gently removed the baby Irzed from his shoulder. He scratched her under the chin, smiling as her eyes closed in pleasure. When he stopped, she opened her eyes and gazed into his eyes. There was love and trust exchanged in that glance, then Hal's eyes got a bit misty as he placed the tiny life form into the ceremonial bonsai tree before him. Still holding her gaze, he spoke. "The name I bestow upon you is Jennifer. I don't know the meaning of it in any language, but it symbolizes love and caring and trust. Jennifer, I have no doubt that you will remember me, remember us, as fondly as I will remember you. And I hope to return some day to see how you have developed." He stood and backed away from the bonsai.

Elsa Mitchell goes over to the Irzed babies, smiles at them saying goodbye. "You all are so cute and I will miss you all."

Selina Otsuka stands cautiously with the team. Her eyes scan the room every now and then for any movements or signs of the creatures that had bit her the last time she was on Ogred. She nods to her Captain's comment and lets her attention dwell on the little babies. Small they were. Cute and a little noisy. Selina smiles softly as she watches one on the branch of a nearby plant. "I'll definitely miss having these little guys around the ship and sometimes on the Bridge." She steps over to the one closest to her, then lets her finger stroke its back softly. "Goodbye little one, don't forget us, as we will not forget you too."

Dan Hunsaker: Having been off the active duty roster for the time the Bridge crew was experiencing all the excitement with the Irzed and the babies, they don't feel close enough to say goodbye to anyone. Just a profound sadness that such a rich culture was still missing such a key understanding of bodily autonomy. By extension, it was likely many forms of individual rights weren't properly understood here, and that was cause for great sadness indeed. Maybe after a few decades of Federation influence?

Zania Turner watches as the others were saying goodbye, still inwardly wondering what made certain members of the crew more worthy than others to be gifted with the responsibility of producing and being involved in the early lives of these children. If they were worthy, what was it that made her not worthy in their eyes? It was something that would constantly haunt her, that she was inadequate compared to other members of the crew.

Laseus Lodros looked at the three Worthy Ones curiously. The ship commander had talked with the Regent for some time about how bothered they were to have carried the Queen's royal eggs, but they all failed to understand the huge honor that had been bestowed upon them for free. He spoke to them without asking for permission first, hoping that the Regent would understand. "We did not understand that you might feel 'violated' by the egg implantation. To carry the egg of another is a high honor on Ogred, and carrying the Queen's eggs is even a higher honor. The fact that the Queen has died, and you three have carried on her lineage, makes you famous in our planet's history. I hope that these things are compensation for the inconvenience that you have endured at our hands."

Lithia Progoni listened as Captain Rieko spoke and then Captain Jordan. She could see that they were sad leaving the babies. She looked on as the Worthy Ones had spent time with their babies during the celebration. She said, "The Regent was very thoughtful and kind to allow the three of you to name the Royal babies. That honor is usually reserved for the Irzed parents that created the eggs. Our sweet Queen Aspidis is no longer with us but her Consort could have opposed this but he has also seen this as fitting that you three have this honor. We all see you as worthy of this honor." She listens to Laseus explaining our ways again. We keep explaining to the Worthy Ones but they do not seem to understand. It seems no matter how we explain this honor they do not truly comprehend it. She shakes her head thinking and says, "Worthy Ones I understand that you do not understand our ways. Maybe one day we will get past this culture barrier and understand each other." She looks at each of the Irzed babies and then continues. I think it will be your children that will help us all accomplish that." She smiles softly and continues, "This relmki I am standing next to is one of the toys Irzed children enjoy climbing on. Irzeds love to climb!" She laughs softly, then points to the little trees. "The babies climb on small trees until they are big enough to use the relmki and other things to climb on.  I regret that you three will not be here to see your little ones grow up, but their nannies will take good care of them, and I will take care of them for you. I promise you all we will take good care of your babies. They will rule us one day when they are grown."

Sandra Lacrima watched the ceremony come to an end from her position. Since she never had that much time to play or possibly bond with the three Irzed babies on the ship, she did not feel the need of a big goodbye moment for herself. Instead she drew her tricorder again, confirming the nonpresence of Phikeeks in auto-scan range and double checked for any other anomalies in an extended range of 500 meters. She holstered her tricorder and contacted the ship. "Ensign Mudden for Lacrima," and after he confirmed receiving, she informed him of their forthcoming return. Though she wanted to feel empathy for the emotional exceptional situation of the three surrogate parents, she had a hard time being back on this planet and was relieved when their visit came to an end.

Ginrai Yamabushi rubs his son under the chin and starts humming an El-Aurian song. He stands and listens to Captain Rieko. He starts thinking and replies, "My little Markos..." he rubs him as his child on a tree. "Markos....it's El-Aurian and also it's a reminder of his Klingon Uncle..." starts feeling tears drop down the side of his face, he wipes his tears away. He looks at Markos as he crawls on the tree next to his siblings. Markos looks at Ginrai when Ginrai says softly, "Qapla!" He looks up at the Irzeds and replied, "This is a Klingon saying... meaning "Success". He stands upright, wiping the tears and says, "Thank you for this honor."

Rieko sat on the floor and picked up her baby, stroking her, and humming a song to Erica that she liked. They had bonded and she loved her baby although Erica had become hers through a strange and barbaric system of this race. None of that took away the love and affection she felt for her child. Erica looked up at her and squawked out "Maw! Maw!" Erica had heard someone saying that to their mother in a holonovel I had brought the two of us into..and she had started calling me Maw. Each time Erica said Maw, I would say "Noo, call me "Mom. Mom or Mommy." Then Erica would make a sound of laughter and say "Maw... Maw," and that made me laugh too. Now looking at her I don't feel like laughing at all. I feel sad. "Erica..Your name is Erica. I love you Erica. I am your mom, and I will come back to see you. I must leave you now, but Mommy will return to see you when I can. Be good, you are my sweet girl!" She looked at the other babies and stroked them. "Goodbye for now, little ones. I will miss you. Be good." She then  looked around at the team. "This has been a festive occasion. I hope it can replace the sad and frightful memories a little bit that we had on our previous visit.”

Siva'nek: The Irzed culture is difficult for many of us to understand. As most of the Federation have beings that birth our own racial children, it's difficult to understand this style of pregnancy and birthing. I think of the Cuckoo Bird leaving its own egg in another's nest for those parents to raise. For the Irzed this seems normal, perhaps it's only in the Royal families this is done? It sounds more common among them all. To them this is natural and they just cannot understand the objections of other races perhaps? I wonder if there was some pressure in their past that caused them to adopt and incorporate the traits of other species. I wish them well in the roles they will soon take on. When I had the time I spoke to them in Vulcan in sickbay. Maybe that was a selfish thing to do; I do not know. I stand before the three little trees with my three little patients and say one last thing to them. Nam-tor muhl heh karik heh tor'ovau abru trau. Lau ish-veh ha-tor nam-tor wu heh savas bosh. Dif-tor heh smusma. I wish them happy long lives and tell them to be good rulers when the time comes. I stroke each one gently like I have in sickbay so many times. When they slept and when they were awake. I will miss the way they call me Dauk, thinking that’s my name. I try not to show too much emotion but I feel it deeply.

Jordan thought about the discussion and the implantation. These people wanted to join the Federation, but they would never be allowed membership if any random visitor to their planet could be implanted with eggs without their permission. He supposed that this change in their culture would be communicated to them and verified by Federation observers before their membership would be considered. He looked down at little Jennifer and spoke. "I do understand what an honor it was for us to carry the Queen's eggs. And it's possible that we would have agreed to do so, had we been asked first. And I believe that you understand our feelings on the matter. Perhaps Erica and Jennifer and Markos, as adults, will be the ones to sit at the negotiation table with Federation diplomats when the time comes to apply for membership." He smiled at his daughter.

Mitchell walked back over beside Selina and set my hand on her shoulder saying how much I will miss these cute little babies. Then I looked over at Captain Rieko sitting on the floor with her baby thinking that I wish I had a holocamera with me to take a holo image of it. I put my head on Selina'a shoulder with a few tears coming from my eyes, glancing up to her to see if she minded.

Otsuka looks to the Irzed parents from her ship. She smiles, listening to them say their goodbyes to their babies. Selina feels the love in their voices and is reminded of her parents when she left Risa for the academy. "One day, I hope I'll be able to truly feel how they feel," she thinks to herself. "The warmth of this festive occasion does put the not so pleasant memories of our last visit here, far behind, Captain Rieko, yes." She looks up to her CO. "I hope these babies will be protected from those creatures as they grow, Sir." Feeling the weight of Elsa's cheek on her shoulder, Selina raises hers to grasp the Major's comfortingly. "Shh...I think they are where they should be, Elsa...I'll miss them too." She smiles softly.

Hunsaker: Trying not to distract from the emotional farewells too much, they slip out their tricorder for one last pass across the room, collecting as much data as possible. Scientific research never stops, even when tensions run high. The more they can learn about these people, the easier it will be to understand them and their ways, and maybe bridge the cultural gap between them in a mutually beneficial way. If nothing else, they imagined, their breeding habits would provide the doctor with quite a lot of his own research in the months to come. After the upcoming shore leave, of course. They briefly considered slipping some relevant texts into the local computer systems that might help communicate Federation ideals on individual rights, but decided against it. Implanting without asking might be Irzed tradition, but it wasn't theirs.

Turner continued to stand there as the others said their goodbyes to the children, still inwardly wondering about her worthiness. She didn't want to say anything aloud and make the existing situation worse for those that would soon be split from the children, but she was too quiet compared to normal and had a very sullen look on her face.

Lodros listened to the Starfleet visitors as they said their goodbyes. He thought about what they had said, and then spoke. "We are not so far apart, your race and mine. It is easy to see that you feel the same love for your offspring as any Irzed parent would. Irzeds are a kind and caring people, intelligent and able to understand the customs and laws of other sentient beings. This 'ask first' concept is alien to us, but we do comprehend it, and if its implementation is required for Federation membership, then planet Ogred can do it. One thing we do have here is an efficient planetwide communications system. If the new Queen does decide to make such a change, all Irzeds will know about it in short order."

Progoni hears Lieutenant Selina speaking to her Captain, hoping the babies will be safe. She answers, "Captain, Dr. Siva'nek, Lieutenants, everyone, we will take good care of the babies. The phikeeks..." her voice lowered as she said phikeeks as if saying the word would bring them here. "They are not normally in this region of Ogred, and we will monitor for them and for other dangers here on Ogred to ensure the safety of the offspring. I am very touched and happy that the Starfleet parents love their babies so much. It is very evident that they do. And some of you officers I notice care about the babies also. This is one indication that we made the right choice. You all can love as our race is capable of." She listens to Laseus respond to the officers and nods in agreement, "Yes, we will consider that concept of ...permission.... and we may still someday become a part of the Federation. It was one of Queen Aspidis' greatest wishes and we would like to see it fulfilled." She looks to Narek, "And you doctor, thank you again for all you have done for the Irzed babies and the worthy ones." She bows to Narek, "A Great Physician."

Lacrima tried to distract herself with thoughts upon the upcoming vacation while she absently watched the farewell scene reaching its peak. Sometimes she's scared by how indifferent she became towards the emotional distress of others. Maybe she got jaded by all the events that took place in the past weeks, so her hopes are set on the shore leave to find her way back to her old self.

Yamabushi listens to Captain Jordan, when he hears the soft tones of a familiar song coming from the tree. It was not El-Aurian, but Earth-based from the twentieth century. The soft coos strung together sounded like the song "Only You" By The Platters. He feels tears dropping down his face, as this will be the last time he ever hears that voice. Ginrai walks towards Markos, and smiles, as tears stream down his face, "You remembered!" Markos nodded as Ginrai rubbed his chin. "Vav... Papa..." Markos says, as Ginrai replies, "And you are?" Markos raises his paw to his chest and replies, "Ma-kos?" Ginrai chuckles, "Markos, Son of Ginrai, grandson of Thomas, and Tolq and Thenia, Wife of Tolq. nephew of Martus, son of Tolq." Markos's eyes widen. "Qapla!" he says to Ginrai, as once again he chuckles, "Qapla!" As he returns to the side of his Commanding Officers, he hears Markos now replying with a solemn, yet soothing El-Aurian song. Upon hearing about the efficiency of the Irzed people, Ginrai replied, "Please make it a point to reach out to us, and to the House of Tolq on Qo'noS. I know that the children will be a part of the Royal family, but because of my family's connection on Qo'noS, they would be honored to know of one of their family members here on Ogred." Biting his upper lip to hold back tears, he replies, still hearing the El-Aurian song in the distance, "We... *ahem* may seem warrior-like... but we do try to keep umm...*ahem* connected.." he takes a deep breath, trying to fight the tears.

Rieko looks to Narek, "Doctor, I think there will be separation anxiety for the babies and us, but we will adjust... we will, in time." I stroke Jennifer and Markos, then I take Erica, holding her, gently stroking her lovingly and Erica climbs up my  arm and sits in her favorite spot on my shoulder. Erica rubs her face against my cheek... saying softly "Maw…Maw... " There is a different tone in her voice, as if she knows I am going to leave her. She knows. I pet her again and pull her from my shoulder.. her little claws in my uniform trying to hold on to me. "No, let go, darling" I say softly, and I disengage her little claws. "Yes, we are leaving you, but we will come back one day, I promise. I know you understand me, so this is goodbye, and it is so hard to say goodbye to you. I love you, but this is necessary. You must remain here and learn all about your people and your culture. I will be loving you and thinking of you wherever I am..always." She places Erica back on the little tree limb and stands up, looks at the away team. It's time for us to go back to the ship." She tries to clear the sadness from her voice, "We have a much needed shore leave coming up, and Captain Jordan and I have chosen the place. It will be fun!" she says, trying to sound enthusiastic and smiles.

Siva'nek: Unaccustomed to being called a "Great Physician," I feel odd for a moment then calmly bow to Lithia pressing my first three fingers to my left shoulder and pulling my arm away with the fingers pointed in her direction in one Vulcan style of thankful acknowledgement. I stand back and wait for the others to finish goodbyes. I am looking forward to some quiet time on an R & R planet myself. I feel a little tired in my spirit after so much and the plant incident.

Jordan nodded with approval as Laseus and Lithia talked about changing their culture. "It is very encouraging to hear you speak this way. The Federation has made many changes over the years in response to cultural changes, and it's a positive development that your culture is willing to change too. You will find many benefits in Federation membership." Without moving his head, he glanced down at the bonsai tree and saw that little Jennifer's unblinking gaze was fixed on him. His heart melted and he knelt down to caress her one last time. "Do well, young one. Make your father proud. I will return to visit you if I can."

Mitchell rubs Evelyn's back and said with my eyes still tearing, "It will be okay, ma'am. I was not as close as you, but you are doing the right thing, plus we are all there for you."

Otsuka nods to Lithia. "Thank you, Ma'am, I rest assured in that case. I would hate to know that these little darlings are harmed by the phikeeks." She shudders. She then addresses the proud Irzeds in the room, "Thank you again for your hospitality." Selina takes another look at the babies, letting her gaze pause on each as a prayer for safety is recited in her head. "Be well, little ones. Grow well".

Hunsaker: Reluctantly, they put their tricorder away for the trip back to the ship. They'd love to analyze the data here on the spot, but alas, there just isn't time, so they'll have to do it later. Maybe after seeing if Admiral Turner wants to discuss anything about her obvious discomfort in this situation. They don't think anyone else has spotted it, with all attention focused on the Irzed and the babies. On the bright side, the ship's computers have more power than the tricorder alone, so that's something. Quietly, they find a moment to speak to the nearest Irzed. "If you'd like, we can forward our collection of knowledge and research on the benefits and drawbacks of consent-based cultures for your Regent to review. It may be helpful in choosing your path forward as a society, with the full understanding of the benefits - and drawbacks - of any given approach. We certainly hope you'll choose to join us someday, but Federation membership isn't for everyone. Informed consent is a cornerstone of our own society, so I'd love to provide you with as much as we know on the subject so you can make the best decision for yourselves. We would gladly welcome any further information on your own culture and research, but that's not a requirement in any scenario." They smile, hoping the offer will be received in the spirit in which it was offered.

Turner continued to remain unusually silent, standing apart from the others and trying not to allow her emotions to be visible even though she was failing at doing so. This was hard for the crew, but even harder for her when she felt so inadequate for not being considered as one of the worthy ones.

Lodros listened as Durant's first officer discussed the Federation. "This is not a world-shaking change for us, to ask prior to implantation. It really did not occur to us that anyone would decline the honor, especially if the eggs belonged to the Queen. And it's very good to know that the Federation is willing to change too. Our membership will be a positive development for all concerned." He turned to look at the one called Hunsaker, who had offered information. "Yes, we would be happy to exchange information with you. I will set up the data connection with your ship and send our cultural documents, and you may respond whenever you like."

Progoni looks to Selina. "Yes, Lieutenant Otsuka, do not fear for them, the Royal ones will have the utmost care, and Captain Jordan, I am happy to hear that you understand the honor bestowed upon the three of you." She looks to Ginrai, “Yes, we will keep the three of you informed on your babies.” She then looks to Dan. "Yes, Crewman Hunsaker, we will gladly supply you all with more information on our culture. We were in the process of doing that when one of your crew members was killed by the phikeeks, and all of that stopped. All of Ogred regrets that greatly." She looks to Evelyn. "We are so sorry you lost a member of your crew here. Lieutenant Mrago... he is now also listed in our history." She looks around at the Starfleet, "Yes, I do believe Our Princesses Erica and Jennifer and Prince Markos will be the ones to help us join the Federation, and bridge the gap between our cultures. I look forward to that day with great anticipation and hope. Good luck to you all in all your future endeavors and journeys. You all are always welcome here. Always." She waves.

Lacrima joined the away team as time had come to return to the ship. It didn't go unnoticed by her that it was a hard time and a moving moment for Captain Rieko, Captain Jordan and Lieutenant Yamabushi. She couldn't and didn't want to imagine how she would feel or react in their place. In fact she was not overly worried about being "unworthy," it obviously saved her from some troubles.

Yamabushi: Feeling a sense of emptiness, yet a sense of sadness overwhelm him, he says, "Goodbye my little Markos." He runs his fingers over the crown of Markos' head and he hums a solemn goodbye song in El-Aurian. "Listen well, my child... you are the beauty of many worlds, and you will do this planet, and the universe, wonders. Honor me in that way." Markos looks up at Ginrai with those deep soulful eyes and replies, "Vav! Ma-kos! Qapla!'' Just then, Ginrai lets out a bellowing cry and replies, "Qapla, reH DuSIgh vavlI" (Success! Your father is a part of you always.) Yamabushi looks up at Lithia and Laseus, replying, "It has been an honor and a privilege to help bring forth new children for Ogred. I leave with only the saying I would say to my child: "Qapla." He clenches his fists, pushing them to his chest in a sign of humility and respect, he bows, "Qapla...may this planet, it's people, and our children gain success in whatever the future holds."

Rieko feels Elsa rub her back and hears her kind words, “Thank you, Major.” Evelyn looked to Lithia and Laseus, “Thank you for all you will do for the babies.” Then she looked down at her daughter. She had already said goodbye, but she leaned down and patted her head, and said, "Goodbye love." Then inhaling and exhaling, she straightened and said "Let's go down to the landing area to transport back to the ship." It may be traumatic for the children to see us disappear.”  She walked away, "Let's go, team," and they walked to the stairs on their way to the landing area.

Erica Rieko looks at her siblings, Jennifer and Markos, and then back at her mother. Her mother and the others are leaving them. She jumps out of the tree onto the carpet and says, "Noooooooo.... Maw! Wait...wait... we go..we go... Maaaaaw!!!!! Maaaww!!!! Mom! Mommmmm!!!! Mommy! Mom!!! She runs forward a bit but she is so small and legs so short she will not catch up to them. "Mommmmy! Dauk! Dauk!!! Daaauuuk!"
