RP NARRATIVE
=============

Marley Knott feels his molecules scramble. The beam over takes longer than normal. When he finally materializes, he feels his body tremor. His eyes adjust as he waits for the rest of the team to arrive and settle in. He glances around. He's in a small transport chamber just off the station. And as he gets his bearings, he can already see there is a body near a console in the chamber ahead. He glances to Landy with a nod.

Cadenza begins to look around while as soon as she possibly can, making a mental note of everything nearby. She spots the body and shakes her head, before doing a slow spin and looking at the chamber she has landed in.

Dominik Landy materializes on the station and pulls out his tricorder. The team is in a small alcove with a single transporter pad. Beyond the alcove is a larger somewhat circular room with a colorful control pedestal in the center near some metal stairs. What appears to be a body lies beside the console. He moves into the room, stepping to the left, and scans the body.

Ginrai Yamabushi feels his body reconstitute in the tight transporter, his senses fall into place, when suddenly his vision comes into play to see the body near the console, while being a little alarmed, he moves in with purpose, trying to make sense of it all

Slash Godard stands in the transporter room listening intently... for anything. That body looks dead. No sounds coming from above the steps.

Knott is impressed at the technology of this small antechamber. Some kind of thick see-through material allows him to look out into space. He wonders what they were working on that was so incredibly secret that even Starfleet security was not allowed to approach the station in response to a distress call. He glanced again to the body. "Scan for weapons signatures," he says softly. He toggles his own tricorder-on-wrist to see how many life forms were present. "I only have five life forms," he says curtly, knowing that there are many creatures whom a standard scan would not detect, and even his 'souped up' tricorder would miss many. "Landy, Cadenza, check out the body... examine for cause and time of death. Yamabushi, that's a tactical console... see if there are any records of a ship or shuttle arriving in the past few hours. Godard, up to next level with me." His eyes darted everywhere as he moved to the bottom of the stairs.

Cadenza obeys Knott silently, moving over to the body and focusing her optics upon it. Looking for any obvious signs as to the cause of death, for now. As she can see that Landy is already scanning the body.

Landy looks at the tricorder scan results and shakes his head. "This life form was a live humanoid male about 4 hours ago, but now it is dead. Brain swelling and facial bruising indicates blunt force trauma. Possible fall injury, or maybe he was clubbed to death. Unknown on internal injuries yet."

Yamabushi nods in response and starts to go to work on the console, carefully moving around the body, as not to disturb it. "Let's see what stories you have to tell me.." he begins to work, and pulls up a record of the last 24 hours, "Hmmm.... " he thinks as he rapidly begins to tap on the console

Godard looks around the catwalk and immediately spots 2 more bodies. "If it was blunt force trauma, they were obviously hit from behind."

Knott hadn't expected to find the station empty of life. One body, bottom chamber. As he stepped up the stairs, careful not to touch anything with his bare hands in order to not contaminate the area with his own DNA, he was conscious that the air of the station felt stale. On the next level there appeared to be some kind of science equipment. Out the porthole he saw a distant sun. In the chamber, pictures of that same sun? And another body. "BFT?" he said sharply. Blunt force. "Any weapon nearby Landy?" Did they turn on each other? "Scan for DNA traces on hands or under nails," he said, although it was unnecessary, his team knew their jobs. He crouched down next to the body. "Male, looks about 26. Standard issue worksuit for lab work. Cause of death," he pauses, taking a pen from his pocket he lifts a few hairs from the back of the head to reveal congealed blood. "No sign of a struggle. Did he know who it was?"

Cadenza looks over for the body for a minute more then presses on her combadge, using the secure line to talk directly to Knott. "I'd like to suggest that all bodies be taken back with us for autopsy. There might be something the tricorders could miss.. Secrets hidden within them, possibly.." She then looks back down at the body before her, kneeling without touching the body and looking at the surface closely. Searching for anything out of the ordinary, no matter how minor.

Landy listens as Godard in the chamber above describes the injuries to the other two bodies as coming from behind. Yet this person in front of him obviously died from a blow to the front. A murder was not out of the question, but there was another possibility. He speaks into his combadge: "It's possible that the station itself moved rapidly enough to slam these people into the walls. The different directions they were facing could have resulted in blows to different parts of their bodies. That's just one of many possible causes of death."

Yamabushi felt his face turn grim, he looked at the screen, as it began to blink, he pulled out his tricorder, and scanned the information, he looked around at the other displays on the console, with a look of shock, he tapped his combadge, "Sir, it took me a few, they had the console encrypted, but I found that nothing came here in the past few months, but something did leave here in the last day or so.. a shuttle."

Godard looks at the screens in the control room. They were obviously monitoring a sun... a sun with a very large solar flare. Then there's the restricted terminal... troubling, it says for authorized persons only yet, flashing across the screen it blinks ACCESS GRANTED. Has someone hacked into this terminal? And the bodies, if they had been suddenly injured bu a lurch in the station, they would have wounds or bruises on other parts of their bodies, not just the head.

Knott received the communication from Cadenza and nodded to no one as he rose from the body and glanced around the chamber, which seemed very sparse except for equipment and consoles. "What the hell were they doing here?" he said, mystified. He remembered the 'Genesis' incident from studies at his academy days, but that was about planets, not suns. He looked across the way, and moved to check the other body. "If the station moved that violently, surely the equipment, consoles, and even structure of the station itself would show it?" Even as he moved, he saw what was likely to be the senior officer here, lying face down on the ramp leading to a shuttle. "There is a shuttle here. Intact, fully connected to the station." Three bodies. He said to Ginrai: "Any details on the shuttle that came here? Is this it ... or did it come and leave."

Cadenza stands up, looking to Landy. "If that's the tricorder has to say.. We should head up and check for more bodies." She gestures to the stairs, silently implying for him to go first.

Landy pulls his attention away from the tricorder to realize belatedly that other team members had spoken to him. He speaks to Knott: "There's no sign of a weapon down here. If this was a murder, the assailant could have taken the weapon with him." Then speaking to Cadenza: "Agreed, we should remove the bodies for forensic investigation after taking precautions to avoid any possible contagion." He starts scanning the walls and railings in the portion of the station, looking for any blood spatter or of organic residue. "These people suffered violent deaths. There should be traces of fluids near each body indicating which direction they fell and possibly whether they were hit by walls and handrails or a murderer's club. Or something else."

Yamabushi pulls up the data on the ship, its manifest, when the screen lit up with a schematic of the ship, his eyes danced around as he looked at another screen on the console showing the course setting, "Looks like it was coming and going sir... " continuing on as he continues typing, "I got the manifest: looks like it was biological, definitely biological." mutters to himself, "What kind of work were they doing here?" he starts adjusting the collar of his neck as sweat begins to pour down his face.

Godard finds another body, face down. This was no accident, these people fell forward and fell quickly. There was an assailant! The body by the shuttle- was this person trying to get away? He's laying right next to the airlock!

Knott walked over to the shuttle to double check. Yes, airtight. He nodded to Slash and then squatted down by the only officer here in a normal uniform. "Have another male. Looks to be around 30. Captain's pips. Odd it's not a science uniform. This colour would normally be engineering, operations or security." He would not disturb the body, but as far as he could tell, the man was unarmed. "Maybe operations," he guessed. "Death about 4 hours ago, according to my readings. Looks like he was trying to get to the shuttle." He saw Hal and Cadenza come up to the second level, "Landy, Cadenza, head up to the next level and see what you find." He continued to scan the body next to him for finer details. "Good work Yamabushi, hack into whatever systems you need to hack into to get us the best information for intelligence. Also, whatever data you can get on that ship - was it cloaked? We'll need that for Starfleet Security."

Cadenza "On my way now." She says before climbing the stairs and moving to go to the level above Knott and the others. Her optics roaming as she looked for any clues or trace evidence that could possibly be found along the way.

Landy climbs the stairs to the next level and finds nothing of interest. He climbs the ladder to the top level and looks around. "On the top level we have what looks like a replicator and some storage cases labeled Supplies, Weapons, Medicine, and Organic. There is another chamber adjoining that one that appears to be a biology lab, with storage containers labeled Antimatter and Danger. There are no further bodies up here."

Yamabushi replies, "Aye Sir" he begins looking at the manifest readout, his eyes begin to widen, as he looks at the listing that is before him. "Oh my...." he replies as he sees the listing from the manifest, and on the other screen, he began scanning the ship, "It was a freighter" he reports, then begins to read the manifests, "Sir.... that ship was carrying........Viruses!"

Godard: Viruses? This crew was not killed by a virus. This was a physical assault. That leaves one assumption- that the perpetrator was stealing the virus samples?

Knott tries to piece the clues together: a ship managed to come and go from the station without detection. The science crew managed to get out a distress call before their quick demise. Based on the distance between bodies and the lack of a sign of struggle, he hazarded a guess that whoever it was had pinpointed a site to site transport next to each member of the station's crew, and quickly dispatched them. Then they had presumably taken whatever it was they wanted, and left as quietly and invisibly as they came. By all indications the station was here to study the solis sun. But why so top secret? And, if there was some kind of a biological threat, EVAs would have been recommended in standing orders, surely? Or, transport forbidden entirely. "Biology... solar flares... viruses?" he shakes his head. Dominik's report catches his interest. "On my way up," he said shortly, his mind busy.

Cadenza moves to join the guys up the ladder and into the other room. This was looking quite grim for her organic counterparts. Mentally thanking her lucky stars that was inorganic in nature, she hurries her arse up. Oculars looking around for anything that would appear to be out of place.

Landy feels a chill run up his spine as Yamabushi mentions viruses. The room he was in could be a good place to study viruses. He starts a detailed tricorder scan with a sense of urgency. If there were dangerous viruses in the air, then he couldn't go back through that door and infect the others. "I recommend that no one else should enter this room until I finish scanning for viruses. If I have been infected with something dangerous, then...I may not be able to leave with the rest of you." A sense of sadness begins to wash over him, thinking that this could be his last few hours of life.

Yamabushi looks at the manifests, begins to read the listing, "These viruses are old, some of these look like they are from Earth, others are from a lot of worlds........." looks at the manifest closely, "Wait: what is......Noonien-S-1?" looks puzzled, and mutters, "That's not....a virus..."

Godard finishes looking in the control room and heads up the stairs to the next catwalk.

Knott moves up to the next level. A quick look around told him there was nowhere to go but up. He walked over to the bottom of a ladder, pausing. Stairs all the way up to this level, then a ladder. Retractable? He glanced up. Possibly. The ladder was extended. That meant, either they did not expect anyone... or someone had forced them to comply. It wouldn't be hard to know there was a chamber above this one. He reaches a hand to climb the ladder and is halted by Dominik's voice. The tone was serious, urgent.. and something else. Marley looked up. Dom was in trouble. He had to fight his instinct to go up and help. He waited. He let his mind connect the dots. "Wait. Antimatter? What would they be doing with antimatter and biological samples and what would that have to do with solar flares?" he hung his head low, trying to make sense of it all. "Heat? Would heat from a sun create some kind of a virus? And why are none of these people wearing any kind of protection if they have a virus here?" After saying that, he nods to himself, deciding to climb the ladder. "Noonien-S-1? Explain, Yamabushi"

Cadenza stands outside the airlocked door, calling in to Landy. "Are you exhibiting any symptoms? How do you feel, physically?" What Medical training she had before coming to Intel was kicking in. And she was running through possibilities mentally already. Turning to look at Knott, "Should he perish, as an inorganic. I would be the next best one here to further investigate that room."

Landy finishes his scans and breathes a sigh of relief. He taps his combadge. "This room is safe. There are no viruses here, and the cases with the alarming labels are empty. Apparently this is no more than a storage location for lab equipment that could be put to use if needed. Most of the consoles are covered with a fine layer of dust, indicating that they have not been used in several weeks." A smile finds his face again, but even so, his steps are a bit faster than normal as he evacuates the room.

Yamabushi begins hacking away, as he pulls up the file containing the cellular structure of Noonien-S-1. "Woah!" he replies, as he steps back from the console, "This isn't just a virus, according to this, it was a supervirus!" he scrolls through the report, "At first, it looked like it was going to help them augment DNA of many different lifeforms, but something went wrong..." he looked at the console, "Sir, are there any security consoles up that way?"

Godard thinks back on the console on the floor below them- there was a red category and he had suspected it indicated a breach in security. Also, the accessed terminal... somebody knew what they were looking for... somebody knew what they were doing... and wanted no witnesses.

Knott nods to Cadenza. Although he was trained to be cold-blooded, able to dispatch the enemy as needed, the thought of losing a long time team member wasn't easy to bear. He thrust the worry and any emotion to one side. He *had* to focus. That was the best way to help Dom. Still mulling over the unconnected pieces of the puzzle, a smile hits his face when Landy appears, and he can't help but go over and, if permitted, slap him on the shoulder with relief. He responds to Ginrai, "Consoles on level two, where Godard saw an alert... and up here at the top, apparently abandoned for some time." He was still mystified as to why there would be hidden ladder used to access a storage area and some kind of a unused lab. "Alright. Either they hid this station near a sun's corona to avoid detection by normal means, or, they were using gasses or other composite materials from the solar body to accentuate their virus. But - and this is a big but, team. These are *Starfleet* scientists. What the heck are they doing making a supervirus? Augment DNA how?"

Cadenza closes her optics, letting out a small sigh of relief at Landy coming out well. She had not been looking forward to having to wait to retrieve his body. At the mention of supervirus and augmenting DNA, she gains a thoughtful look. "Possible combination of organic and inorganic experimentation. If not just one of the two, then. This information is leading me to possibilities that lie more on the unethical side of the medical practice. The killer may be gone, but the information we've discovered.. It concerns me."

Landy looks around at the storage room and checks his tricorder again. It was full of information that could be correlated with information from the other team members' tricorders. They had collected sights and sounds from all over the station, from the top to the bottom of the energy spectrum and into biological information. It would all be assembled by Starfleet Intelligence, who would determine patterns and relationships and probably come up with an explanation that none of the team members could have anticipated. Even the positions of the crates could be important clues. "Well, we have what we came for, many gigaquads of data that can be analyzed. I believe we should beam the bodies into stasis chambers on the shuttle and then warp away from this place." He smiles as Knott bashes him in the shoulder. Teamwork was great!

Yamabushi looks at the analysis, and then on the other side, accesses level two, just when he sees security video, "Smithers no!!" a voice screams from the audio from the feed, "I'm reading this information from the data: it was an accident, they were working with Augment DNA to combat viruses in history, but then the DNA combined with the viruses." he gasps, "It started with a normal cold, or viral infection, but it found a way to trigger aggression levels with the lifeform, even in races prone to use in certain ways aggression to their advantages! It ramped up their heart rates, but shut down logic centers of the brain!" Looks at the data, "Looks like the delivery system was a hypospray which had antimatter particulates. This thing adjusted itself to the host!" begins to mutter, "Way beyond me!"

Godard shakes his head. People playing god... it's never worked... it will never work... and then we have to sweep up the pieces

Knott takes Yamabushi's report in. "Someone has this virus," he says urgently. To hell with radio silence. He taps his combadge. Starfleet Command has *got* to be informed without delay.
