RP NARRATIVE
===========
Valgerd Thorgautdottir (Evelyn Rieko) looked at the crowd making its way to the temple. She stayed back as the crowd made its way to the temple. She went over to Hal and his team to discuss what they would do with the asteroid and the crashed ship. She walked over to Hal, nodded to Zania and Ginrai and whispered, "Number One, I think this is the perfect time to decide and execute a plan concerning these 2 objects, while everyone is in the temple for their Harvest Celebration. Cmdr. Otsuka has brought information from the ship stating and verifying these objects should not be here. So we must rectify that. Also the missing pilot. I've discreetly scanned villagers but I haven't found anything unusual. What is your plan?"
Jarl Thorbjörn Knudson stood before the temple, anticipating the upcoming Haustblót celebration. It would be his first time at the celebration without his wife, and he missed her greatly. But the celebration would take his mind away from his loss, he was sure. It was always a good time, with laughter and singing and boasting by the warriors trying to outdo each other. And the liquor would flow and maybe he could forget his loss for a while. "Well, let's go in and see how the temple looks when it's all decorated!"
Una Flokidottir (Selina Otsuka) sees Evey and quickly steps near to her. She slips her hand under her arm quietly while she nods politely to the Jarl nearby. "Doctor Riley... I've come with some information that might change some things. We've referenced Starfleet's database and we are certain that Jarl Knudsen did not die from sickness during this period in time. It would seem that we are in a different timeline than ours. So the Captain has given a go ahead to treat the Jarl and prevent him from dying from his sickness now, Evey."
Eir Trygg (Evey Riley) heard a loud cough and saw Ginrai stumble. She ran to his side. "Ginrai. Are you ok? What's happening?" She was afraid reality was disrupted for him again. He looked like he had nausea. She bit her lower lip, they had to keep him safe. She looked at the device in his ear, yes it was working then she grabbed his hand and looked at the ring. This needs to stop now, everyone is getting sick! She walked toward the Jarl and looked around. She closed her fingers around the hypospray that had been hidden, and almost jumped on him, pretending she had stumbled. While grabbing his arm, she injected him. "Jeg er så lei meg Jarl. Skadet jeg deg? Hvordan føler du deg forresten?" ((I'm sorry Jarl. Did I hurt you? How are you feeling by the way") With this said she hid the hypo quickly. "Jeg hadde det travelt fordi en av vennene våre ikke har det helt bra, jeg trenger et par menn til å hjelpe meg med å flytte ham slik at jeg kan sjekke ham" (("I was in a hurry because one of our friends is not feeling quite well, I need a couple of men to help me move him so I can check him") She felt someone touching her, there she was, Cmdr. Otsuka in the perfect disguise. She smiled while listening to the information Selina was sharing. She nodded repeatedly, if she had known some minutes ago she would have added more medicine to that shot. Now the Jarl would need more shots. At least two more and the same for the blacksmith. "I will give them more medicine, Selina, thank you. This information is vital"
Thorgest Northrisson (Ginrai Yamabushi) runs in search of the healer, the nausea overtaking his sense of duty. He kneels to the ground as he sees Evey. His right hand covering his mouth, and his left hand gripping tightly the hilt of his sword. "I'm okay..." he replies to her question, but then feels the sting of the hypospray. He almost swipes it away, but begrudgingly takes it. He takes a few deep breaths, and lets out loud voiceful exhales.
Jarl Opir Einarson looked back at the crowd going into the temple. He was looking forward to the merriment... dancing, singing, eating and DRINKING! The ale would flow freely tonight and he would dance with many maidens. However, right now his mind was on one particular shieldmaiden. He made his way up the stairs taking two at a time.
Hallstein Starolfsson (Hal Jordan) heard Evelyn's question and nodded. "Yes, we have contacted the ship and they are ready. We plan to wait until the harvest ceremony is in progress and the noise level increases inside the temple. When that happens, we will beam up the ship and meteorite into cargo bays 1 and 2. The meteorite will be behind a shield and the spaceship will be accessible for scanning and analysis. Glindar notified us of some other meteorite pieces near the blacksmith's location, so we will beam those up too. This village should be free of radiological problems very shortly! With your approval, of course."
Ingrid Thorbjörnsdottir was dozing on her bed, breathing calmly, when the sound of villagers marching towards the temple made her snap back to there and then. She straightened up and stretched her body before she got up. The nap she took worked wonders, she felt a lot better. She put on the necklace her mother had given her shortly before her death. It was meant to resemble the Brisingamen with the red-golden elements to praise Freya in combination with green elements to praise Freyr. Next she placed the crown of flowers the maiden had prepared for her, on her head and adjusted it. Not wanting to be late, she hurried down the stairs, where she almost stumbled over Jarl Opir hurrying up the stairs. Her eyes rolled before she said "Ópir, hvað viltu hér?! Hátíðin er í musterinu! (Opir, what are you doing here? The celebration is in the temple!)"
Zania Turner looked at Hal and asked, "Do you want me to help when it comes to the meteorite and the ship?" She wanted to prove herself useful among the crew, especially when this situation was something outside of her comfort zone.
Rieko looked to the XO and to the Admiral. "Excellent plan... and a good idea to execute it while the ceremony is going on and everyone is away from the area. Make sure there are protective force fields around the objects we will store in the cargo bay. After you two have completed the tasks, come to the temple and join in with the others. I will be there, so no one will wonder about where my people are. Her thoughts went to Ginrai, she hoped he was alright. He had gone to find Dr. Riley.
Jarl Thorbjörn looked at the steps leading up to the temple's doors. They might be challenging for someone in his condition, but he would do his best to enter with dignity and grace. Slowly he walked to the base of the steps and began climbing.
Otsuka drops to her knees next to Ginrai, she reaches out and tries to hold him up as he seems to be straining to breathe. Selina turns and nods knowingly to Evey's understanding of the information that she has just relayed to her. "Yes, we should try to cure or counter the effects of radiation poisoning on these people. We must not let them die, or it will change Earth's timeline as we know it." she whispers discreetly to Evey.
Riley saw Selina kneeling next to Ginrai while she was waiting for the men that would help them carry him, not because they couldn't, but it would be strange to see two women carrying a big warrior like Cmdr. Yamabushi. Only the weapons he was carrying were heavy, now adding his weight... The men were probably too busy in the temple. She could see the villagers gathering near the doors. They seemed excited. Most of the women were wearing crowns and their best clothes. She had researched this ritual. Haustblót. They were celebrating the harvest. She could smell the newly baked bread and the hay and wheat stacks near the doors. She listened to the maiden words "Hilsen, welcome to our summer harvest celebration. You can grab the candles when the doors are opened." She looked at Selina and lowered her voice telling her about the device Ginrai had on to neutralize the effects of Af-Kelt. This situation wasn't going to stop as he had been wearing it since they arrived and their advice needed to be researched further to reduce the side effects. She looked around and seeing no one was approaching she continued with the villagers health status and the stone the blacksmith had in his house. They had locked it but still, they needed to find all the stones Thornsten had used to make jewelry.
Yamabushi says to Evey in a whisper, "It shouldn't be here..." he takes another deep breath, "It really shouldn't be here." He stands up and starts walking towards Captain Hal. He mutters, "Af-Kelt isn't going to knock me down..." he lets out an exhale that puffs his cheeks and he grits his teeth. He nods at Evey and Selina, then collapses again. He struggles as tears form in his eyes and he grabs his ring and twists. The pulse starts again, as the tremors increase. He looks over to Selina and says, "We've gotta get it out of here..." he starts to stand again and looks for Commodore Rieko and Captain Jordan. He walks towards the wall of the building, putting his right hand on it trying to balance. He was trying to recover from the balance, but kept collapsing due to dizziness. He started staggering, but stopped. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He felt his balance return, and started walking normally and headed towards the two.
Jarl Opir: In his haste going up the stairs he almost bumped into Ingrid as she made her way down the stairs. He looked to her thinking she seemed irritated with him, and said briskly, "I know where the celebration is!" Then he softened his tone, smiled and said, "What am I doing here? I came to check on you to make sure you are alright. Your father told us you were resting. I came to make sure you are alright, give you these flowers..." He extended his hand with the bouquet in it, waiting for her to accept them, he added, "...and to walk you to the temple if you are ready to go." He smiled at her hopefully. Suddenly he wondered, was it worth it to be married to her just to gain her village... and now it looked as though her father was getting healthier by the minute. He did feel genuine attraction for the girl though.
Jordan smiled at Evelyn's approval of his plans. The two of them really did work together well, agreeing on most things and disagreeing only on minor details... usually. There had been that one time... but it was in the distant past, not worth mentioning or even remembering. Letting bygones be bygones was the name of Hal's game, and his life was much better as a result of not carrying around any negative baggage. "Okay, great, we will take care of it. When you see us enter the temple you will know that the job is done." He started thinking about existing in the distant past, and everything that could go wrong. He could step on the proverbial butterfly and change the future for everyone. An old song popped into his head:
I'm my own Grandpa,
I'm my own Grandpa.
It sounds funny, I know,
But it really is so.
I'm my own Grandpa.
The song was about a man who married into a family where in-laws got married and became relatives in strange ways. The song had nothing to do with time travel. Maybe it should have been rewritten for Starfleet's continual temporal excursions. He watched as Ginrai approached.
