RP NARRATIVE
===========
Evelyn Rieko noticed a crowd growing outside and a few people had entered. the building. She had informed them this was not a hearing or a trial, it was only an inquiry. She and her officers would be interviewing suspects. She looked to Sandra, her Chief of Security, and said "Lieutenant Lacrima, make sure no one rushes into the interview room, do your best to control this crowd that seems to be gathering here. Reassure them that we are just asking questions, that no one has been arrested. Try to keep them calm and keep order." She walked into the interview and saw the 4 people seated and the Macreen leaders Sagor Bunig, and Evan Bravebird. They had assured her and Hal that while they were gone to battle, the Macreen Leaders would interview and narrow down the amount of suspects and they had narrowed it down to 4. Each one with a reason to commit these crimes. She walked back out of the room and went over to Ginrai. "Lieutenant Commander, everything OK here? Anything to report?" She nodded at Cheryl and Zania as they made their way into the interview room."
Ace Watts: "I am currently working on the decontamination arch, it's malfunctioning, and I'm making repairs."
Cheryl Skinstad feels uncomfortable about returning to Macreen. As part Betazoid she is to be at the interview so that she and Zania can help in detecting whether the suspects are being truthful or hiding something. It does not take a Betazoid to see this dissent in the crowd assembled. She felt sorry for Sandra, having to deal with it, but knew she would do a fine job. She acknowledged her CO’s nod, by a quick nod in return and followed her into the interview room.
Ginrai Yamabushi looks around as the decontamination arch was heavily damaged, "Ooff, they really did a number on this one." he looks over at Ace, "Hey Ace, give me a hand with this one, will you?" He looked at his tricorder with a grim face, "That's... not good.. looks like we are going to have an infestation of skitters... I'm gonna do a repair of the circuitry, see if something chewed through the emitter."
Sandra Lacrima received her CO's order and confirmed to her, "Yes, Sir, we will handle this situation.“ She turned towards Crewmen Lartes and P'Trel, who were standing in front of some people who were waiting in the entrance hall. "Attention Crewmen! Commodore Rieko's order is clear: no one is allowed to enter the interview room unless told otherwise. You two guard the door while I try to calm down some of the people here.“ After the two crewmen confirmed the order, she went on towards the group of people that had gathered in the hall.
Zania Turner looks to Hal and then to Cheryl, trying to remain observant for not only physical actions, but any emotions that she might be able to detect as well. She saw the person who greeted them and nodded slightly out of respect.
Tanu Binin walked in through the large entry door and saw several people wearing protective suits. It was a good precaution, but it made him feel vulnerable. "So you are the interview board? I was asked to come here and answer some questions. My name is Tanu Binin and I am a Bajoran colonist. Please don't tell the other colonists, but I have never wanted to join them in hatred of technology. In fact, I miss having the comforts of Bajor here. Babbling brooks and grass stems waving in the wind are great, but a fellow likes to have a nice refreshing sonic shower now and then."
Evey Riley had been in the lab taking notes about the dead specimens' tests and analyzing the Zorphax creatures' cocoon for a while. It was amazing the strength of the web. One of the eggs had had a few colours change, the other was the same. She had scanned them and only one of them was incubating, but it was the last generation of the infected skitters. This research was very important. She had removed a small part of the shell and was ready to analyze it now after taking notes. The results puzzled her and she walked back to the cocoon nest. "WHAT! Impossible." She looked at the egg and then at Ensign Rogers. "Did you crack the zorphax egg?" Then she looked at Evan that was near the Area. "Mr. Bravebird, did you see something coming out of the egg or running around?" Ensign Rogers shook his head while she hurried to look around. "Check the doors and help me find it!" "Find what?" "The skitter! it must be around here." Ensign Rogers ran to the door, not sure of what she was talking about. "What skitter, Doctor? We haven't seen any of them and I don't think they are coming back since the arch was installed." "Well this one isn't. It's very small and escaped. We need to find it before it infects someone. Can't you hear the crowd outside? This is a priority, Ensign! You heard Ensign Mudden talking about how hard it was to get rid of them. You were there." She looked at Evan Bravebird. "It's from the infectious species. I know it sounds bad but we can't let it grow, reproduce and infect the colonists, but we can't tell them just yet. The panic would arise. You know the building better than us. If there's a crack it could have escaped although the arch would make it slower or try to run away." She stood on the table, maybe it could be hiding in the nest. She didn't see the usual slit in the shell, maybe when she took the sample? She shook her head while looking inside the cocoon. There was too much to research with new creatures but If they didn't find it she would have to interrupt the Captain's meeting as this matter wasn't something she wanted to talk about through the combadge.
Evan Bravebird looks on as Dr. Riley works on finding out more about the mutated skitters. He can still feel the adrenalin rush through his veins whenever he thinks about the battle they had with those creatures. The mutated skitters were so much larger than the original ones and extremely vicious, attacking everyone. Even the small baby ones attacked. He shook his head and said, "Dr. Riley, I admire your dedication to your profession. You really are a wonderful doctor. I speak for everyone here on Macreen when I say thank you. Thank you so much for finding the cure to the skitter fever. And personally I thank you again for saving my brother." He looks toward the door for a few seconds as if expecting Commodore Rieko to enter as he continues, he was about to ask Dr. Riley again to remain on Macreen and be their lead doctor when she started talking fast and seemed nervous...saying a mutated skitter had escaped... "A mutated skitter has hatched? And it’s an infected mutated skitter. Yes we have to find it before it infects someone." He repeated her words as his mind raced. Yes he heard her speak of the crowd outside and they have no idea that a skitter could be in the crowd. He looked to Evey, and said, "There've been no screams, so no one has been bitten yet. Those little creatures are vicious, so if it hasn't bitten anyone it may be hiding. I will try to get the crowd to go home without raising a scare about the mutated baby skitter." He rushed out of the room and out to the front door. He saw Sandra and said, "I need to address the crowd, Lieutenant." He moved to step forward.
Liam Adria opens the large doors to help allow the crew of the famed Durant away team enter the grand hall. He adjusts his clothes and checks for wrinkles, looking up as he offers firm handshakes. "Greetings, I'm Liam Adria, member of the Macreen colony. I am the newly elected Leader of Emush Parish, we contacted Starfleet for assistance and they sent you the Durant to help us. No need for those specialized protection suits, my guests. I assure you the atmosphere is quite stable as you can check with your meters. There is no need for all of the overdone technology here, only the ones conducting science in the lab are allowed at this time. We recommend you just dress simply, and our security will take and hold all of your technology while you are visiting. Please abide by our governed laws here... well, now that we get the formalities out of the way, as you can see, we have a bit of a ...erm... bug infestation. You are welcome here, my guests, crew of the Durant, how can we be of service today?"
Hal Jordan stood in the main Macreen building, in his EVA suit again. He had thought they were done with Macreen, but one duty remained, discovering who had sabotaged the transceiver. It was good that no one would be trying to destroy Durant or take control of the crew's minds. It was less than an optimal situation, however, that they had to be wearing these EVA suits again. He hoped that the protection was needed for only one more day. His suit had been thoroughly autocleaned, but in his mind he could still smell stale perspiration inside it. "Macreen is a beautiful colony but I don't believe I would want to live here," he said over the suit's radio. "I have become accustomed to holovids and high tech medical care and a fully programmed replicator full of delicious food. When I retire to a nice peaceful colony somewhere, it will be one that has beauty and technology existing side by side." He looked at the Bajoran colonist who had come into the room from outside. The man was wearing utilitarian coveralls, fairly modern in cut, and a helmet with a light in front. He looked like any technician from any civilized world, ready to work on someone's comm system. Seemed harmless enough, but you never knew. Hal had learned that judging a book by its cover was often a big mistake, but maybe that was because he was a poor judge of books. "Greetings, colonist Binin. What you say in this building is strictly confidential. We promise not to reveal any of it."
Rieko looks to the new Parish Leader Liam Adria, "Thank you for your kind welcome, Councilman Adria. We have been here before and have worked to restore the Comms system and our doctor has found the cure for the skitter fever and inoculated many of the colonists. We will continue to wear our Environmental suits for protection until our Science and medical officers deem it is safe for us to remove them. The skitter fever virus is still here in your colony. And no Sir we will not hand over any of our technological devices." She shook her head, "Leader Adria you seem to be misinformed. You should speak with the two other leaders, Sagor and Evan... we have returned here to interrogate suspects that tried to kill us, well, tried to kill me and my First Officer, Captain Hal Jordan. And you, Leader Adria, may be one of those suspects." She looked to Cheryl and Zania. "Admirals, what do you sense from this man?"
Skinstad feels the crowd’s anger toward a new Councilman called Liam Adria. They are suspicious about the attempted murder of the Command Senior Staff. It appears that they think he is connected to it. She also can feel concern from one of the Durant crew. It was a Medical concern. She tried to dismiss this Medical issue as she was there to detect any interviewee subterfuge. Evey was capable and in any case would surely contact Evelyn should any medical emergency arise. She tried to push this concern away and clear her mind but it was nagging her. She hoped to goodness it was not a skitter issue. It was difficult to scratch an impromptu and psychological itch in an EVA suit but she did a slight wriggle, hoping nobody would notice. She heard her CO ask a very straightforward question, and so had to respond quickly. “Sir, I have felt many emotions, mostly from the crowd. I am unsure just now about any emotions from the interviewees. I am continuing to observe.”
Yamabushi looks down at his tricorder and keeps seeing the encroachment of the skitters and feels a drop of sweat coming down his face. He wants to head out, but he hears the words of the Councilor and the presence of the guards to which he raises his hands up like one hitting a pane of impenetrable glass. He looks over to the Councilor and says, in a language some Macreen might understand, "Aquy, Councilor..." he said walking back with the rest of the team, and looking at the arch and Ace's work. He looks over at Ace and asks,"What do you think? Repairable?"
