Mission #207: The Mystery of Ullipallilli Station, Part 1

USS Maxwell, NCC-21873, is a Nova-class science and survey vessel based out of Pinastri Colony on the Second Life Grid. We are currently a mission of exploration in the Hapke Cluster, an open star cluster of some 10,000 star systems. We are open to new crew! Please inquire with Captain Nora Gerhadsen or with Commander April Coswell. We are particularly interested in Science, Engineering and Operations officers.

Roleplay Times: Thursdays 6pm to 8pm SLT

Mission Name: The Mystery of Ullipallilli Station, Part 1

Story Concept: April Coswell and Nora Gerhadsen

The following information is IN CHARACTER information.

Location: Deep Space

Alert Status: green

=============================================

We have finally received clearance to set course for Ullipallilli IV station, where we are to restock, meet up with Commodore Gerhadsen, and drop off the 37 survivors from Vesuvius V. Starfleet confirms that the USS Vega is on the way to pick them up and help them find a new home.

Our stop at Ullipallilli will also be an opportunity for shore leave.

In Service,
Captain April Coswell, Executive Officer, USS Maxwell

OOC Notes:

- This mission card was written after the fact. Much fun was had!

* These duties are very general ideas, feel free to add to them and fill things in.

--> We are a science and survey ship. That means we find weird stuff sometimes. Create! Let's see what we all can come up with!

* Please allow people to do their jobs and be thoughtful of the fact that people join departments and divisions to do their jobs. Try not to step on their functions. If you have something to help someone (advise that they may or may not follow) instead of saying something publically, it might be more useful to IM them and discuss it with them.

* Departments should be working together. There should be enough possibilities for everyone as long as they all work together and cooperatively. Do not be afraid to do OOC planning in IM.

* This is more or less freeform, but please don't have it as "Q did this". We need to get ourselves out of our own jams (not that this has ever been a problem with this crew).

Remember that the point of all this is to have fun! Good luck and have at!

Narrative

We have made our way to Ullipallilli III Station as planned, and docked inside the asteroid field not too far from the station. One of the particularities of this system is that the magnesium-rich asteroids are packed densely enough between Ullipallilli III and Ullipallilli IV that ships any much larger than a runabout - including the Maxwell - must assume position near an asteroid with thrusters at station keeping, and then a transport from the station comes and collect the crew.

Upon our arrival at the station itself, we were met with strange happenings. In the shuttlebay, a hypospanner flew through the air with some velocity and clanged across the floor. Later, while we were taking refreshments at the station's bar, a tricorder flew out of nowhere and hit Lieutenant Silvercloud in the back of the head. The station commander, one Derlek, got a call from station Ops saying that a station visitor had had some valuables stolen - and those valuables later re-materialized elsewhere. Finally, Lt. Commander Naiver's phaser was flung out from its holster, disappeared and then reappeared about 40 feet away - severely mangled.

The station commander insists that nothing untoward is going on - but that last incident, involving one of my security people, made it more than justifiable for us to ask questions.

In service,

Captain April Coswell, Executive Officer, in command of the USS Maxwell
