Captain's Log:

Stardate: 200506

Alert Status: Green

While on routine patrol, the Veracruz has come across a federation freighter adrift. 3 life signs are aboard, but no response to our hails even as we come along side her.

I have requested Capt Brit lead an away team over to the freighter to find out what has happened, and ascertain the condition of the crew. With luck, it is a simple comms issue, but I am sending medical and security along with the science team, just in case

Voice Recording:

I set course for our routine patrol: 287 Mark 113 and as we got underway, a discussion about the anniversary of First Contact Day ensued briefly. The discussion was interrupted by the discovery of a cargo vessel that appeared lifeless, but actually had 3 life forms aboard. An away team of essential personnel was dispatched, but I remained on board the Veracruz with others, but my chair broke and so I spent the remainder of shift trying to figure out who did it....
