A most fascinating discovery. The USS Veracruz has entered the Ivaldi System. The star has 2 class M planets in orbit, both 180 degrees from each other. One appears more temperate than the other, but both fall in the Class M range.

We are beaming down to more habitable planet now, to investigate and learn about the people who inhabit it. Whether or not they now about their "twin" planet also in orbit remain to be discovered.

Voice Recording:

I set a course of 118, Mark 37 and engaged at Warp 4.

We eventually came across a Class M planet and after scanning it to make sure it was safe for exploration, we turned our stations over to the Beta shift and beamed down. It was very Earth-like and was very much like a place where one would camp in the summer months.

As I walked through the forest, I took recordings of everything and noted that my mind was completely at peace in such an environment. I also found a cave that had a pool of water in it before moving on past a religious statue. My feet did get tired rather quickly, as my boots were not equipped to hike such terrain, and so I removed my socks and boots and cooled my feet in the creek...it was refreshing. I also managed to get a drink of water from the stream and liked it.

After a time, I came across a cabin equipped with modern furniture and other necessities. I was joined by Lt. Salek in short order and we explored the cabin together. We did notify Admiral Randt of our discovery and remained with him when he arrived and explored the cabin for himself. We did not find the owner, unfortunately...
