The Denkiri Centre for Creativity and Astraios Colony present a fascinating new open lecture series at the United Federation Starfleet base on Astraios Prime (3rd Rock Grid).

“Boldly Go Trekking will feature guest speakers from many disciplines and areas of interest,” said Vice Admiral Poison Toocool, Commanding Officer of Denkiri Centre. “The idea is to present topics inspired by or related to life as we know it (virtual and real), who we could be as Humans, where we could travel, and what we have learned so far about the amazing universe we live in.”

June’s speaker is sure to be out of this world! Marine biologist Rachel Pfefferi will present a captivating talk entitled, ‘Is there Life among the Stars: Astronomy meets Biology in the Search for Extraterrestrials.’ In this fascinating and thoughtful lecture, Pfefferi will discuss the conditions needed for life to exist elsewhere. If it is out there, why haven’t we found any evidence of it? Are we looking in the wrong place? Are we looking for the wrong thing? One of Jupiter’s eighty moons, Europa, may give us some answers.

Pfefferi’s lecture will take place on Saturday, June 4th, at 10:00 am (PDT), at the Colony’s newly constructed AstroTheatre. Opening for the event will be DJ Tek, who will spin some great tunes starting at 9:00 am (PDT), with DJ Kitzie Lane playing after the lecture.

“Denkiri is a center for creativity and innovation at United Federation Starfleet Astraios,” added Toocool. “A place where our members can build, design, or invent new things… work on individual or team projects… contribute to the Open Sim environment, help others, or just share their ideas & fandom in a positive atmosphere.”

For more information on the lecture series, contact Poison Toocool via subspace communications using the Colony Space Antenna at Astraios Prime (3rd Rock Grid).
